I have just bought the Megget X1 with Electric Vehicle charger test adapter and are very impressed with build quality and functionality, I previously had a fluke which I found to be great but the new Megger is on another level.
It is very intuitive we it’s help screen to aid with test and the link up with certsuite software is another string to its powerful features.

My go to for electrical testers I upgraded to the 1471 MFT a few years ago after a rep let my trial one and have never looked backed, the only downfall I have found is it goes through batteries pretty quick and my leads have failed and required replacing

I own the megger 1721 tester and it's perfect for all electrical testing including the ability to test phase rotation. The kit comes with all the leads and probes you could need. They have handy functions like keeping the highest zs recorded and easy zeroing. The tester is build very well and strong

You get what you pay for with Megger. I have recently upgraded my MFT for the new 1741+ and still have the 1552 that is around 10years old in perfect working order as a backup unit. As well as the MFT ,coupled with the EV charge adaptor this is a perfect piece of kit when completing EV charge installs. The build quality of all the Megger instruments I own feels exceptional

I have used a few megger testing instruments and have always found them trustworthy and reliable but some of their products aren’t a linear as other similar products on the market, they seem abit clunky in comparison to others. But they made well and work well so can’t complain

I have used several products over the years and have not had any real issue just personal preference to use other testing equipment. I do like the face that the testers have some bulk to them giving you something to get hold off that won't feel like it will break within a week.

Megger 1731 MFT , great tester , easy to use , never let me down , bulletproof , chargeable and seems to hold a charge for ages . Only downside the leads are a weak point and I broke one of the crocodile clips .

We have several multi functional testers and really like them. The only issue is when you have used a bit of bettery the test results start to become inconsistent and will need the tester to be put on charge again.

Great testers, though repairs are expensive if needed, they are robust, I reversed over mine in the van even so damage was minimal. My one gripe would be with the test leads supplied with the multi function testers as I found that the test leads supplied with older versions such as the 1553 superior to those supplied with newer versions

One of the best testers out there for using on site. The multiple test functions with different settings is just a hit. The automatic testing of Ze ect it’s just ace, saves so much time, helping getting the job done quicker! Giving accurate readings and never really failing, can’t fault this company!

My go to tester, I have used many models from megger, as times progress and newer better model comes out and makes testing slightly faster and easier for the user and less Fidly
The testers box is a bit plain brand image could do with being jazzed up to stand out from the crowd , also I had a continuity tester the is great but the pvc sheath from the main unit shows the inner testing cable outside the casing which I was disappointed about product fault which really was never followed up on just taped it up

I own a Megger MFT, MFT calibration box and Earth Leakage Clamp, all of which have operated faultlessly so far. Not the cheapest, and replacement leads seems expensive for what they are, but can’t fault them. Had my MFT calibrated and upgrade to 1741+ spec during the Covid-19 period, and they turned it around quickly for a good price. Highly recommended.

Tried other brands when mine goes in for calibration. (Fluke and kewtech) although they are great products I just feel Megger edges it.

The One & Only MFT to buy.
Definitely the only tester I know where you could throw it off the scaffolding, drive over it (though why the hell you ever would when spending £1000 plus on it) and just turn it on and expect it to work with no issues. (See Meggers own video if you have any doubts)
I have the latest 1740 and it’s quick even when compared to my 1731.

I use quite a few Megger products, every-time I have to speak to Megger about a random issue they have also been good and to the point. The products do cost a bit more but its worth paying to have someone at the end of the phone that speaks English (not from a sheet).

I have a Megger 1730 and I find it very rugged and easy to use this is my second tester as I decided to upgrade from the 1500 series. The 1730 has lots of functions that are essential for carrying out electrical testing to comply with the electrical regulations. I much prefer the multifunctional tester rather than the separate testers as everything is in one place

I have the mft 1730. The meter is great. Some great functions on it. The things that let it down is the case is small and a bit rubbish and the leads are you great quality. Swapping the croc clips and probes all the time is a nuisance and I’ve had a few leads fail near the probes

I've got an MFT, much prefer the layout compared to other brands. Easy to see what test you're carrying out without having to scroll through lots of menus. I like that they've spent time improving the EFLI test rather than adding features that tell you if a test has passed or failed.

Good products used them for a number of years now, the single function testers also had the mft1730 now using the mft1720 it does the job no problems, only issue I have is I once lost one of the tips off the test leads and when I came to look into replacing it I found you had to buy a complete set of leads, tips, croc clips etc. which I think is crap as the tips are fully removable and do get worn so these should be available to buy on their own!!
