DeWalt 18V XR LI-ION Combi Drill

Great drill takes some abuse on site as well and keeps going. A lot of power in these drill as well. A right wrist snapper if you’re not careful.

Heavy duty, long lasting battery and lots of power, great tool. The only downside is that the posi drive bits are too soft, apart from that no Complaints

This is a great little 2 speed drill/driver. Plenty of power and nice and neat weight wise. Slap a 5ah battery on it and you are away all day.

I bought this a few years ago now and it has finally given out. I used it pretty much every day. Its tough reliable and definitely value for money

Had about 2 years great drill for just about everything you can imagine lots of power and very bright light. Very comfy and easily lasts all days being brushless. Can’t fault it

Excellent drill makes a cracking job of most tasks. Never had any issues however in my opinion the Milwaukee is a better tool due to increased torque build quality and features

Very tidy, compact design. Features an adjustable light on the handle so can be easily used on darker situations such as in tight corners. Much better then the brushed motor drills, seems to have more power and doesn't want to bog down as much

Very good drill, powerful enough to do most tasks without breaking your wrist, very good value for money. Only negative point for me personally is that after two years of use, it's cracked both sides on the joint between the handle and the drill body itself... currently waiting to see if it's covered under the warranty but I'm not holding my breath.

The 796 is my go to cordless at the moment, it’s got the perfect balance between power and weight, even with a 5ah battery attached. The option to use the LED as a floodlight is always an added bonus when you’re stuck under some stairs, working on a consumer unit and your head torch dies!

My go to drill wouldnt change for anything else. Replaced my old one of 11 years with this so far impressed. Have 4mA batteries last for ages

Another great long lasting bit of kit. Just make sure to get the one with metal chuck as the cheaper options are plastic and will not stand up to the abuse of us tradesmen.

Another must have tool,had this a good few years and it’s never let me down.great for fixing holes and for speed bits as well. Another tool that’s not let me down yet.

Great drill, better than old one. the brushless model has more power and torque and less overheating. I am well impressed with the new brushless model

Brilliant Drill, has a good weight to it & with it being XR it has the hammer setting. Use it daily with the 5Ah Batteries and it lasts all day i love the drill and its Dewalt so its already very well made, not too expensive either for the body only.

I've had this drill for a while now. Like most of Dewalts tools, I can't fault it. Changing the drill bit is simple. The magnet on the side of the drill holds another drill bit which is handy if you are drilling a tiled wall. Changing from hammer drill to drill is simple. Changing the battery is simple, and it performs very well.

We use these all day great power And battery lasts . All the new power tools we buy are dewalt so the battery’s are interchangeable and great storage boxes to keep them on the van

Again another great drill by dewalt, I have the brushless and the older one and there is a huuuuge difference, doesn't over heat, and feel alot more rugged than others I've used

Great drill, replace an old Bosch and has been great bit of kit with a case and other impact drill, quick charging and three batteries.

We have loads of these. Best and favourite drill. If I am out to buy a drill - it will be one of these. Good quality, long lasting, best brand by far.

Brilliant drill if it’s a tool I use a lot I always buy Dewalt they have never let me down. This drill works well and battery last for ages

Had one of older models batteries didn’t last long and took forever to charge but think I might have got a bad one just

undoubtable the best drill I have ever used, I don't use anything but dewalt anymore. very good quality for the price and I've never had an issue with it.

Love this drill and the impact driver, thinking about acquiring a second set as they are so good, the Milwaukee I found very heavy in comparison. Especially when working above your head or using up ladders.

Brilliant drill. Only downside I’ve have two with the chuck slipping after a few months usage but both been replaced for free and 3rd time lucky no issues for last 4 months and used heavily daily

Excellent piece of kit, i had one last for four years the only reason i update was the batteries were going plus i can still use them in my tourch

I’ve tried a few brands of drills but dewalt seems to be the one that comes out top. Loads of power and with the quick charger your never without power

I have had 2 of these simply because i prefer dewalt and the old one was stolen. I have had quite a bit of trouble with the chuck on both of them. Seem to be very liable to slipping. Lets the DeWalt range down. Very good new feature of having a brightness adjustable torch on the front and the anti vibration technology.

Not the cheapest around but without doubt you get what you pay for, best batteries around. always gone for dewalt and that won't change, just don't buy the cheap diy version and expect it to perform.

great drill, good battery life, quick charge and has many torque settings, forward and reverse and speed control. makes life very easy with this

Good powerful drill, the adjustable brightness light comes in really handy, drill is light & compact, battery power lasts ages

Does everything you need it to do and comes at a very reasonable price. Had to replace my chuck after about a year as it had stopped working correctly but apart from that I’d say they’re great value for money.

Great drill, with great power. Use with 5ah batteries and the run time is excellent. The shorter projection of the drill is a big help when getting between joists for 1st fixing

Bought one recently thought I'd give them a try after always using makita and cannot believe the value for money and cannot belive how much more power they have

Great bit of kit use it all the time! Never lets me down, it suprises me sometimes what it'll go through. Rarely get my sds out of the van

Lots of torque, surprised me to first time I used it. Favourite thing about the drill is how short it is, can fit between joists for drilling holes to route cables. Excellent work light as well. 5ah batteries last forever.

Great drill, like the impact driver I have given it some serious abuse and it's been fantastic. No signs of ageing or slowing down. Really impressed.

Great drill! The build quality is superb! I hardly get my sds out because it goes through concrete without any problems.

Great and powerful tool. Not too big either! Ever so happy with the perchace of my dewalt power tools and have never been let down by them. They can take a good beating and still perform like new.

Good wee combi drill however I had to upgrade it to the XRP model with the metal chuck as the plastic one always sticks and I have had to send that model back twice for repair. I use this nearly every day so having a reliable drill is essential.

Excellent drill really powerful and easy to handle, Well built and the 4ah batteries last a while, the magnet on the side is great for driver bits.

Got this drill as part of a set with a battery impact driver. Both are good quality and genuinely feel quality when you use them. Tough, durable and can take a bit of a battering

I have used this a lot great tool, but resently having an issue with the chuck not holding and locking the bit in properly/ not unlocking - new chuck will be fitted soon

Quality drill drive does what we want it to got enough power and battery lasts well too Value for money Body on it is quite strong but light in weight

Good value for money buying it as a bare unit and using it as a everyday drill for hanging radiators and doing light stuff with it. Highly recommended

Good value. Don't over work it and stick to what it can do easily and it works great. Light weight and packs plenty. Bought in a set and well worth it.

Good light weight drill with plenty of torque behind it. As long as it's not abused then should last you a fair few years

I've had 2 of these in 2 years. Just had the 2nd one repaired. I don't give them heavy use but they seem to but not the best build quality, but i guess price reflects that when compared to some other brands. It's tough to move away when 'all in' on the batteries
