Review for Beaverscrews by Keynston Services
9th February 2022

I had a box of 80mm beaverscrews, used them on a couple of jobs now. They have super sharp tips, I was very careful pucking them up to avoid self-harm, but they drove into plugs extremely well. They feel super-solid and went in like a dream. The screws were longer than the plugs, and easily bit into the thermal brick. I deliberately left the first holes a tad short to see how they handled that. I'll look out for some 50mm beaverscrews, the 80mm wee overkill for mounting consumer units.

Very good screws, do what they say, bit more expensive than other brands but quality is up there, I have never had one snap or the head round off. Extremely durable

I first tried these as a test product and found the quality to be decent the screws dont cost the world and do what they say on the tin I would say that they should include a couple of bits in the box like even cheaper brands do

Great screws that go into wood with no effort at all. Bit more expensive than normal screws but worth the extra. They range size is very good. No need to pre drill due to sharp point.

Well made screws, no sign of damage to the head when screwing into multiple materials. Tends not to split wood when self piloting. Like the fact that under the head it has a series of self cutting teeth that counter sink at the same time. This saves time and sits neatly into the materials.
Overall good product will be trying these out on multiple projects.

Got these to try instead of my usual 1"1/2 8s .
Did the job just as well and much easier to screw into wooden joists .
Would definitely get some more, probably slightly larger in size.
I definitely have recommended these to work colleagues and other contractors ive bumped into along the way.

These 40mm screws do exactly what they say! They seem to be a good quality screw and work as a screw should, I honestly can not fault them and would recommend as a general use screw.

Was sent these last week to test out and to be honest they aren't bad, wish the ones I got where longer but the 40mm lengths ones came in handy for smaller jobs. Self drilling and self countersinking too, would say they are as good as SPAX

Review for Beaverscrews by A.S.L Carpentry & Construction Ltd

Being a carpenter I get through 100s of screws every week & you’ll be surprised how much quality can vary from different brands.
I was sent some beaver screws free so can’t comment on the price or range etc.
Once I got a beaver screw out it looked good quality compared to the standard screws I’ve been using from the merchants (see pic) & ive got to say they didn’t disappoint when I used them.
Full thread, shape point & stuck to my pz2 bit well meaning I could put the screw on my gun & screw one handed while holding a bracket up. Also they seemed strong, like they wouldn’t snap easily.
If these screws are reasonably priced I will definitely be buying some more.
Be interested to see what the longer screws are like as these were 40mm, but overall I was very impressed.

I recieved a box of these for test and I'm really impressed with them. They have a self countersinking head and ribs on the shank to help reduce the chance of jacking between 2 materials. I normally use Reisser screws but after trying Beaverscrews I could be switching over in the near future.

I was sent some screws to trial by expert trades now I usually use turbo golds but the beaver screw seems to give a much quicker bite in to timber and effortlessly continued to drive in I’m presuming this is down to the wax coating, the heads seem strong I’ve even tested them with massive overkill and they hold up really well so far really impressed I’ll pick up some bigger sizes and see if they hold out the same as the 4 x 40mm ones I’ve used

Was sent a box of these and I’m impressed. Typically use the gold screws from screw fix but these have so many more features that help. I’ve noticed they bite in so much faster compared to the other ones and also are a lot stronger.

Won’t be going back.

Review for Beaverscrews by J W Heating & Plumbing Solutions Limited

An excellent screw that effortlessly glides into wood thanks to its wax coating, this also helps against squeaking when inserting the screw. They seem to cut "eat" into the wood extremely well and certainly fall within the premium category. The screws are strong and the pozi head withstands impact drivers, drill drivers and manual screwdrivers without rounding, they also self countersink extremely well when I've used them in timber and they literally fly into wall plugs. I would definitely recommend however I would like to see them with a torx head rather than pozi but that just down to personal preference. The ones I tried were 4x40, I'd be interested to see if larger ones perform as well.

Review for Beaverscrews by Bennetts Safe Gas

First off these screws have proved to be a very good top quality screw. I have only tested the 4x40mm (800) tub so far but this will not be my last. My usual choice is the screw tite brand from Toolstation. I’ve used them in cls and ply. They have had a good grip in my bit with no jumping. The coating they have on them seems really good and you don’t notice it when your handling them. They don’t feel noticeably oiled or covered in a wax but the synthetic lubricant that is on them helps with the driving of the screw. I have tested the screw by driving it into and out of the wood a few times without problems or hesitation from the screw. I have driven the screw deep into the wood and close to the edge with no splitting. I will be upgrading my screw box collection to hold these screws very soon. Can’t wait for them to be available at my local suppliers.

Review for Beaverscrews by B. Burnside property maintenance

I've been using the 40mm tub on a customer project (inbuilt cupboards / bookshelves to alcoves either side of a chimney). My usual go to screw would be either turbo gold or turbo silver from screwfix dependant if a particular colour finish is required. I was asked to give these a go and rate my opinion. Having been using them for the last 3 days, I am, so far impressed with the performance I have experienced. The beaverscrews have a good sharp point that enters timber with minimal effort and a rifled shank reducing the need for pre drilling or countersinking even close to the edge. I have found the old issue of screws splitting the timber they are used in is not an issue here although if using close to edges or in end grain I would still recommend piloting your hole 1st. The grip in the pozi head also feels solid and so far I have not had any rounding off. I have been using these in both timber and mdf and these feel firm in either. I will definitely be using these again

Review for Beaverscrews by John Carne
27th April 2021

My first thought when using these screws was ‘these go in really quick’ the next thing I noticed was how my impact driver wasn’t using the impact mechanism to drive them in as there was little to no resistance, for comparison I tried the screw next to these on the left in the first picture, these needed the impact driver to engage the impact mechanism from about 2/3 the way in and took noticeably longer to drive in.

The beaverscrews self drilling tip Allows these screws to drive in instantly vs the competitor which needs about 1-2 seconds to get started while that doesn’t sound like a lot it makes a big difference when working with longer screws as they can wobble about and get dropped before being driven in this can lead to damage to the work piece and is very frustrating, furthermore this feature is extremely nice to have when screwing into hard engineered wooded materials such as when screwing laminated kitchen panels into place or connecting two units you don’t want to wobble and miss leaving a dent in the Finished product.

Another nice feature was the self counter sinking head which l noticed left very clean holes as well as further reducing torque required to sink the screws bellow are two pictures on the right is the whole made by the beaverscrew and one by the competitor is on the left, you can clearly see the competitor screw has splintered the wooden surface.

With a combination of great features like the self drilling tip, self counter sinking head along with the wax coating and reaming mid section (to widen the hole before sinking the head) makes these screws very battery friendly I’ve used these to line stud walls with 12mm plywood and after using most of an 800 tub I’ve not had to change batteries (Milwaukee m18 5ah)

These screws feature a deep cut single thread which offers excellent pull out resistance and really claps the timber together this is excellent for all applications but especially where you are boarding surfaces or joining load bearing timbers i much prefer this style to the likes of the screwfix twin threaded turbo gold screws which will not offer the same level of pull out resistance.

While we are on the topic of resistance these screws are sink plated and yellow passivated to 3-5 microns offering good corrosion protection.

Now while using these screws I experienced not a single cam out which is impressive they fit very nicely onto the pz2 screwdriver bit and they have a hardened body to reduce flex in the screw as it drives in so all the torque from the impact driver is used efficiently and effectively, these screws are fully approved for use in load bearing timber construction and carry the full CE approval to EN14592:2008 which is an absolute must have for timber framing in the uk i do not use screws without this approval.

I would say Beaverscrews are a good contender for the likes of Reissers R2 range or the Spax yellox range both are very high quality screws with long feature lists however I haven’t tested the larger beaverscrew sizes yet although they have impressed me and I intend to buy more, now normally I prefer torx head screws and would like to see that as an option from these guys also I would like to see larger quantities available for the bigger sizes eg. The 5x100 in a large trade tub of say 500 however I am definitely going to be using these for my next job I’m really impressed 10/10
