Forge steel is cheap stuff. But its good for entry level users and diy where having top quality tools doesnt matter. Good range of tools and equipment available.

Not bad kit. Reasonable value for money. I have the level set, they were ok when I bought them but after not too long they have gone out of plumb. Especially the 250mm level. Actually really annoying now it's quite badly out. My motto is don't scrimp on your kit and every time I go against it to save a few quid I regret it

I have a number of forge steel products from Allen key sets, torx bits, nail punches etc. Whilst it isn't absolutely the top of the range stuff I've never had any problems with any of it, the Allen's keys are ancient now and still going strong never rounded off. Can't really comment on customer services above since I have never had a need to contact them. Imo they sit nicely in a niche that you pay more than the budget equivalent but the difference is they do the job and last however aren't as expensive as the premium equivalents.

Not a great brand to be honest. Very cheap quality and tend to brake easily without much use. They are a get you out of trouble tool, for example if you have left you normal tool at home and need something quickly just to do the job. You buy one then never use it again lol

Not the best tools out there but if you need a job done and don’t want to break the bank then this is the brand for you, I know a few people with the off forge steel tool and they always tell me that they’re old and have lasted a while so that’s something to consider

Still have the odd Forge tool in the bottom of the tool box, started out with them many years ago. Gradually upgraded over the years to better quality but can’t fault these for diy, starting out. Kits available via screw-fix etc are a good starting point fir the price and amount of tools you get. Good tools for the price

When your just starting out, you cant go too far wrong with Forge Steel. They are good budget hand tools with a price that enables an apprentice to build a pretty full kit, pretty quickly. I wouldnt recommend in the long run, but to start out they are perfect, you can then upgrade as you go.

Not bad at all. I got a bag of tools, a whole starter kit from screwfix and i still have lots of them knocking about. No frills but they do the job generally and they toolbag they came with is very handy. I still have it 10 years later!

A entry level brand for DIY enthusiasts and for trades just starting out.
Recommend forgesteel for apprentices or even seasoned trades that just need a cheap tool that works well for the price you pay.

As a screwfix staple you cannot fault the customer service. Anything within warranty they will very rarely say no to exchanging for replacing any tool for any reasons.
The quality is not brilliant but it’s cheap and they have a very large range, if you are kitting out an apprentice early on or a few tools for your kids (appropriately aged ones)

You get what you pay for in most circumstances but when it comes to Forge steel products you do get just that little bit more! I guess I'm a bias tool snob, not the biggest fan, but admittedly, for tools that don't get used much, or something that is going to take some abuse like a chisel, then there is a time and a place for forge steel tools. Product range is pretty expansive and as its a screw fix, normally in stock too.

I was quite dubious about getting any of these products even after reading most of the raving reviews about them. I took the plunge with the 18" tote bag and was amazed. I had always used Anita brand that are famous for making knives and always had the bottom give out on me me! (Probably from over loading) but the FS bag is holding strong. I have ventured in to other produce and have been pleasantly surprised.
