Monument autocut 22 and 15mm pipe slicers in plastic. Great kit, being plastic they can't rust unlike the more traditional cutters which have parts which are inaccessible to clean up any rust and hence a limited lifespan even with regular maintenance. I strip mine down every few months clean up the few metal parts put a new wheel in and they're like new. Never had any issues with the plastic being weak etc and their warmer to hold compared to metal cutters in cold weather. Cuts just as well as traditional metal cutters.

Monument Masters 15mm and 22mm extended.
Previously I owned another brand of benders which are famously yellow. I had them for 18 years and they decided to give up on me. Just goes to show that British made products last. However that brand of benders are now produced in China and do not have to same quality.
I knew that when I bought some new benders they had to be British made and had seen that a lot of people posting about these new monument masters. I read up on them and finally got a chance to have a bend on a colleague’s new set. I knew from that moment I had to get some.
They are very easy to use, no more cack handed trying to get the pipe guide in and flipping the pipe stop over and these are now built in. Your line of vision when doing offsets is unrestricted as you don’t have the other former blocking your view. You can line up the offsets with the arm out of the ways.
Although you need to carry two benders instead of just one normal scissor bender, the weight difference is not recognisable. This is because the monument masters are much lighter in weight.
A question I have been asked is if the monument masters pull tighter bends in comparison to normal scissor benders and the answer to that would be they are the same. They do pull offsets just as tight also.
Are they worth the money?? I would say yes they are. Down to the fact that they are so much easier and ergonomic to use over scissor benders. As with other monument tools I have owned they have always stood the test of time and I am certain that these will also.

15 mm pipe bender. New type. I must admit spending that sort of money on a pipe bender just wasn't in my mind. However after reading a few reviews decided to buy one. What can I say just it's as good as all the reviews say.
Build quality is very good. However will have to wait and see how the plastic pipe guide lasts. With it been small it's easy to use in doors namely bathrooms. Bends 15mm pipes very easily. I've also noticed I'm noticed my pipes aren't crinkled (throading) when bending. Im think my old bender/former is worn.

From your experience, why does copper pipe ripple when you bend it?
Answered on 26th January 2021 by A Daughtry Plumbing & Heating Ltd
Couple of reasons guides and formers not clean and greases or cheap thin wall imported copper. Don’t get this problem very much now since ordering my monument benders
Answered on 26th January 2021 by D s plumbing and heating
Pipe wall size is alot thicker than it used to be, plus the pipe bender former could be stiff.
Answered on 26th January 2021 by D s plumbing and heating
Sorry meant to say the copper is alot thinner now.
Answered on 26th January 2021 by PG Plumbing
Cheap thin wall copper doesn’t help the issue , there was a batch few years ago that was actually snapping
Damaged formers or the guide on bender itself can also do it
Or guides , formers that are not clean
Answered on 26th January 2021 by B H heating solutions
Over the years been few reasons, main reason I find of is poor Quilty copper! Other reason dirt on the guides generally a good clean and oil or dw40 sorts it out, had once with bender that had been dropped and it was slightly twisted
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Roy Millar Plumbing and Heating
Cheap thin copper but even expensive copper ripples. But makes a big difference with running wire wool over the guides first. Keep them clean. Found the wee monument benders don’t ripple the pipe as much. Great wee benders
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Ian Winnard Heating & Plumbing
Purchasing poor quality copper tubing, always buy kite marked. Formers need to be kept clean and check bending tool for loose fixings ie bolts loose etc.
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Vital Plumbers Ltd
Thinner copper plus if the copper pipe is cold you will get a ripple if it’s cold I heat it up with my blowtouch for a few seconds
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Glennon plumbing services ltd
I’ve had my hilmor bender for 9 years and the only time it rippled copper was when I lost the original guides and had to buy a cheap generic one. Bought the original guides again and haven’t had a single ripple since. I’ve used copper from every merchant and to be honest I’ve never noticed this “cheap” copper that ripples, maybe it’s out there or maybe people’s benders need fixing/binning.
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Mjb
Poor quality copper with thin wall gauge
Answered on 26th January 2021 by N Barker Plumbing Heating and Gas Services
A few years ago it was due to cheaper imported copper, more recently if the formers or guides are worn the bend will ripple, sometimes it happens if you try to pull the bend too quickly or if you catch the free ends of the pipe on a door frame or floor whilst bending,
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Fitzgerald Electrical & Plumbing Solutions
Couple of possible things. well maintained pipe bender clean guides etc. , try warming up the tube a little especially when it’s as cold as at the moment, also poor quality tube there is a lot a low grade tube available and merchants always want to maximize their profits, some merchants I’ve been in and asked what brand the tube is have had no clue ? Just replied tube is tube ain’t it??? I only use Wednesbury tube copper and haven’t had any issues!
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Wheelers (westbury) Ltd
Normally poor quality copper, and worn/badly maintained benders/formers. Also springs will ripple copper as well but haven’t used them for years !!
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Paul Jenkins Plumbing and Heating
Usually the guide and formers need a clean
Answered on 26th January 2021 by A L Plumbing & Heating
if the tool is dirty or poorly maintained if the copper tube is of poor quality or if the pipe is bent to quickly
Answered on 26th January 2021 by ATR Plumbing & Heating
I usually just clean the formers with wire wool or similar and it resolves it. Could be a bad batch of copper or poor quality benders. I have some old hilmor benders that were handed down to me from a retired plumber, their quality.
Answered on 26th January 2021 by COMBI-CARE
Incorrect pipe slide, poor copper, or pulling bender by wrong direction !!
Answered on 26th January 2021 by Albert Williams Ltd
The guide or bending machine is dirty or is loose. The guide will need tightening or cleaning. Pipe is not good quality. Can also of the installer holds the copper when using the bending machine.

Answered on 26th January 2021 by D C PLUMBING AND HEATING
I first noticed this problem when using a Rothenburger bender and put it down the dirty guides and formers. I also believe its down to high steel content copper, apparently close to the end of a batch the quality is particularly poor.

Customers just want an engineer to turn up when they say they will. It sounds really easy but the day to day running of your business can easily get in the way. Make sure you dedicate enough time to each job so that you dont over run and potentially miss other customers timeslots!

Turn up on time, respect peoples homes, dont put your tools on beds and sofas, no matter how clean your new bag is.Be prepared for previous work carried not to be up to standard, so allow extra time.Take your time, it's actually quicker.make sure you have the means to soak up water, not the customers bath towels. If you price up fairly the customer will often inquire about another job often before you are finished.keep enough consumerables on board, nothing worse than searching for a buried last fitting.Inform your customer what you are doing, but be polite, nobody likes a smart arse.Buy decent tools if you value your hands, buy decent led torches and carry spare batteries.I also use led work lamps.wear gloves or clean your hand thoroughly skin care can be underated, you can end uo with hands as rough as old boots and or skin conditions.

Do it properly from the start!! Get independent business advice, a proper business plan and a good accountant. Learn the basics to marketing a company and remember your customers are the important people on the planet, do what it takes to put a smile on their face.
Rember it takes 1 good job to create 20 leads on future jobs via word of mouth and reccomendations. And it takes 1 bad job to loose 50 leads on future jobs!!

Always give yourself a few moments to stop and catch your breath . Sometimes we look past the solution as we are stressing or worrying . Take a two min break then go back .

My first set of benders were monument. Straight bends not twist or kinks. And take a beating
