RUBI
Germans Boada, S.A., RUBI®, has its origins in 1951 with the invention of a manual cutter for hydraulic mosaic work, created by the Boada brothers.
This new tool had an excellent reception receiving a diploma of honour and the gold medal at the first national exhibition of inventions, held in Barcelona in 1953. The new tool, christened with the name of RUBI® served as a foundation pillar for this company which now designs, manufactures and distributes machinery and tools for the construction industry specialising in tile laying equipment and along with other building materials.

I have got the 610mm manual cutter and it’s brilliant for cutting tiles. Accurate and easy to use. Always makes cutting tiles that bit easier.

Used to have random tile cutters but none really lasted. Started with Rubi’s tile cutters and they are perfect. Cuts extremely well and long lasting. Never had to change the scoring wheel even after more than 1000 cuts.

Rubi are basically the brand I use for tiling equipment that is very good but not excellent quality however is reasonably priced without getting ridiculous. If I want something very specialised I'll pay for it otherwise Rubi spacers, cutting discs, hole cutters and they more than do the job. I have a rubimix 9 240v 1200w that has never failed me used for mixing plaster, tile adhesive even concrete. Have only cleaned the motor housing and motor once, doing so revealed good quality construction, good seals, circlips, and a spare set of brushes is provided for eventual replacement.

Tile drill bits seem to be of a well below what one would expect got a few that go on the grinder from ctd and yes it was a mains grinder used on porcelain tile and only got a few holes a bit went back to ctd and they told me I would need to take it up with ruby and got no where with that would not buy again the tools are not what they use to be I have had problems with there mixers and tile cutter bits as well.
I would say think long and hard before parting with your hard earned doe they are not cheap

When i have a tiling job to do i load my vehicle with all things Rubi. As you would expect from a manufacturer that specialises in tiling equipment they have pretty much perfected both their power tool range and hand tool range for the tiling industry. I rarely use anything else when it comes to getting a good finish.

Great cutters. I use the ts60 dry cutter and its lasted years, don’t bother with the cheap stuff it’s false economy. Buy cheap buy twice. The diamond drills for porcelain are also well worn the money

Say no more when it comes to tile cutters. All the professionals use them, and there's a reason why. A little on the pricey side, but if you want something that's going to last and serve you well everyday, it's worth paying the extra!

Do have 2 sets of rubi tile cutters that I have owned and used continuous for over 15 years. The quality of the cut is exceptional and have changed blades over the years but after the initial cost the cutter is still in great condition after all these years of use.

Very high quality gear never had a bad tool. Wouldn’t buy any other brand for cutters. They are not cheap but there not made cheap either. Very good trowels like any trowel you just need to keep them clean.

Started to do a lot more tiling lately, so decided to buy a decent tile cutter. Went with the Rubi DU 200 evo electric tile cutter. Comes on a solid table and saves lots of time and makes a nice neat cut, no water flying about and can handle large profile tiles, perfect for the average bathroom fitter.
