Bought one of these after winning the round cable stripper (thank you tooltalk)
And thought it’d be the same but honestly it’s so much harder to get the hang of than the round profile ergo stripper.
I feel I’ve given it a fair chance but just don’t jive with it.
Admittedly it is in my daily tool bag as a F* up cover that takes up very little room

The catch is a bit flimsy and I can see it breaking and no longer hold the tool together soon but apart from that the blades are rather sharp takes abit of getting use to, to be able to use proficiently but a all round solid tool and will always have a space in my tool

The more i use this tool the more I like it, I have got faster with it now, still not as easy as some other strippers I have used but it does have its place in my tool kit

This is meant for easier use with flat twin and earth cable. At first sight it is a different shade of red, and the blue maker's logo is screen printed rather than being part of the moulding. The catch that holds it closed feels flimsier than the older version, and it only has wire strips for three cable sizes. But it performs well both left and right handed and it's become a permanent part of my tool bag.

The knipex flat cable stripper, does exactly that.
it is not as polished a tool as the ergo strip, the locking mechanism can work its self open so it will spring open at will, the blades are very sharp and I have a few small nicks on a few of my screwdrivers because of it.
However practically the a spectacularly easy tool to use. Clean cuts with the flat blades.
The long cut knife, while it looks too long, cuts perfectly along the length of the cable allowing you to easily strip down a long length of cable with absolute ease.
The individual cable insulation stripper locks around the cable easily and you get a clean quick strip back for a final termination.
Also a little clip which to be honest seems a little redundant and fragile.
Over all it has got a permanent place in the tool box.

For second fixing this tool is amazing! Strips t+e and flex in seconds without cutting the cores. However if you want to use this to strip cables longer to put away in a board, then this becomes a lot harder to do. This is due to the fact when you use the scoring knife on the side it keeps slipping of on long lengths. If it had a guide of some sorts this would be the perfect tool for all occasions.

I do like this tool its small and compact easy to use iv used it quit a bit on stripping out sockets once you get the hang of it its a lot quicker then using your snips or a knife. I do like how its got a little blade on the side so you
Can open it up and wrapt it round a thicker cable Iv used it for slicing down the side of the outer sheath or swa and the blade is just the perfect length for not cutting into the inner cores All in all a cracking little tool

Brilliant little tool to add to the bag really simple design quick and tidy cut especially on the round cables will be using this alot in the future.
