Review for Citroen Berlingo by Ewelectrics

Literally the best works van I have ever used. No exaggeration I wanted to hate it for being a Citroen but Being a company car, I have given it no mechanical sympathy at all. Always on the red line and 100+ on carriageways while fully loaded. Not even stressed. Ive gone from sprinters, T4/T5 transporters, LWB vivaro and recently some pickup trucks. This is better than every single one of them in every discipline.
Apple CarPlay, compartments everywhere, good robust build and storage in the back. The only maintenance Ive had to carry out was a blown dipped beam headlight a few weeks in.
Do not think I could give it up if given the choice. Would be nice to be a tiny bit bigger I suppose but never been a problem.
That being said I do prefer my pickup for personal use as being stuck with 2 seats is limiting to say the least. For work though the berlingo is ace

I’ve had my Berlingo for almost 12 mths, limited space in the back for all my power tools etc. Great, reliable van and for a first van was excellent on fuel and insurance.

I was in need of a small van to add to our growing fleet of now 3. Haha. I went online and after alot of research I found the berlingo, great value for money, I picked up my driver model for 14k + vat, 70 reg, ply lined with metallic paint. Really happy. Great spec for the money. I would definitely look to replace the other small van with another berlingo.

Bought a Berlingo when I started self employed. Neat little van. Perfect for what I needed at the time. Only mishap when handbrake failed and got written off. Liked it so much I bought a near identical replacement.

I’ve used a berlingo for a few years doing well over 100k miles. Only let me down once when water pump went but otherwise faultless. Not the biggest of vans but perfect for what I need it for .

Drove this on hire for a week and loved it so much that I wanted one on a 2 year lease. Great spec, even better than my car. Favourite SWB van

Have had the berlingo for close to a year and really happy. Bought it second hand and with regular maintenance, fingers crossed have had no trouble. Only downside is it is a little small for carrying all tool plus materials. Ideal for a service van or trades who don’t require as many tools on a day to day basis. Bluetooth and reverse sensors as standard whereas I have had a partner which doesn’t have these features despite being almost the same van

Bought my Berlingo second hand two years ago and have been really please with it. Great consumption, easy access and after adding roof racks it has met all my needs as a gas engineer.

I bought my Berlingo 2nd hand when it was a year old. A basic model van (no AC) but it has been a dependable workhorse now for 5 years. It used to get very warm in summer (black van) until I fitted a low level spinning vent in the roof. There are plenty of good ply kits around for shelving and tool storage. Only real -ve point; I would prefer a long wheelbase van in hindsight, to add a bit more room.

You get what you pay for with this type of van. It’s a budget van but a good way to get started if you are going self employed. The built in satnav is a good feature if you can ever get it to work

Great little van, especially if you don't need to carry everything on a day to day basis. It has plenty of room in back and I can fit 3m lengths of pipe by dropping the front seat and bulkhead panel.

No the berlingo, but the Partner. we had one on flexi-hire for a year and it was that good that we just took on a contract on a anew top spec version.

Highlight is fuel economy. it seems to go months between tank fulls!

Used to have a vivaro but found I had a lot of unused space. Great van for day to day repairs and servicing. Racked inside provides enough room for my stock and my tools. I do struggle with bigger stuff but for these jobs I just get materials delivered to site. The range of features you can have is impressive.

Very good van for the money! I had the business model not long ago which came with alot of adons: parking sensors, bluetooth, air con, cruise control. Only reason i dont still have it is the size. Its just too small inside for me. And the driving position isnt great however value for money is great

The bigger the van, the more useless stuff you'll store. I've carpeted mine out in the back and have racked it out enough so that I have more than enough room for tools, materials and anything else I would want to store. Also have had deadlocks put on the rear and side doors for further protection

Not a bad van driving position doesn't go back far enough for my liking. When hands off wheel it likes to go the the left (tracking is perfect). However there are loads of decent storage places in the cab and decent features on mine like parking sensors, Bluetooth connection and aux etc. Not the best van out there but is good enough to do the job comfortably

The lease on the van is nearly up for us and for a little van can't complain to be honest. It's been a great run around doing servicing and little jobs. It's great on fuel and would have another one any time.

Mine is 5 years old now and just done 110,000 miles and hasn't missed a beat.

The enterprise model is full of useful mod cons such as aircon, Bluetooth and rear parking sensors.

Will chop her in soon but only because I have a yearning for something bigger now but this is a good solid reliable van as long as you look after it and drive carefully.

We've had a berlingo for just over 3 years. We got it brand new from our local main dealer Wingrove Citroen.
We got the automatic version as one of our lads didn't have a manual licence. I have to say the van was comfortable with plenty of room in the front and a good size load area. It was fairly economical and service intervals were every 20000 miles.

One downside was the automatic gearbox. It was pathetic. It's the only automatic I've driven where it actually rolled back on even slight inclines. You have to use the handbrake while starting on a hill. Couple that up with the eco mode where the engine cuts out to save fuel and you could roll back up to a metre by the time the engine started and the gearbox decided to move you forward.

Got a brand new Berlingo in May 2015 although I've found it to be a bit too small it means I keep it cleaner as I need to remove / replace materials and scaffold etc it's a nice little van to drive and the 1.6 is nippy around town but also good on motorway. It's quite comfortable to drive with decent features such as A/C and electric windows. Overall a good little van
