Cracking little drill. Has more torque than I have ever needed. Brushless motor helps with runtime, it seems to run all day on one 5 amp battery, and a metal chuck makes it perfect.

Must have piece of kit most of my cordless tools are dewalt ,I have had no issues , not light, but sturdy, this is a amazing drill and screw driver , and drilling some holes ,

So happy with mine, had it for 2 years and not once had it played up, quality piece of kit, built to last, very light but still got the power it needs to get the job done.

very well built an excellent bit of kit took it to work and both batteries lasted all day the case is quite robust as well. Got mine on a sale at screwfix so glad I did.

This has to be seen as a very good mid level tool, I don't use it everyday, but I do abuse it as and when I use it. This drill has not let me down once and for the price I just can't fault it!

It’s been used and abused for a while now and it’s take in all and will take much more to come.
Decent torque and 2 speeds it can handle most things with a bit of finesse.
Never had need of the hammer function though.

Out of all branded tools I've found Dewalt the best. Got the combi drill and it's quality. Really does the job and very durable. Can't complain and will continue to buy other tools.

Beast of a combi drill very powerful and can stand up to any task thrown at it. Worth spending the extra money to get or upgrade to this model you won’t be disappointed.

I bought this as an upgrade to my compact Combi and the quality is great. value for money and performance are also great. The added torch function is a great addition and used quite often in lofts where it’s dark. Not a bad thing to say about it.

It's a nice drill for small masonry drilling, it seems to impact at a high rate. Let down by the chuck which either comes loose easily or locks up solid. Have used the light function a few times.

Fantastic. Very robust. Doesn’t seem to struggle with anything even engineered brick or trimsaran brick (local to me and very tough).
No issues with longevity either as I have the 5ah battery. Very good.

Reliable and effortless, DeWalt nailed it with this combi drill. Had it for 3 years now and expected it to fail after one year with the stick i give it but still going strong and still charging well, the li-ion battery (4.0Ah) that came with it doesnt ever lose charge and even after all the drops its had its still working perfectly. The specs say a stupidly small size of capability in wood but i use mine with a 110mm board cutter and it always breezes through without hesitation. Hammer mode is perfect for the softer materials ( sand and limestone for example)

Great drill to bring to any job, good for sinking raw plugs into brickwork drilling holes in wood, or using as a driver with the torque settings, Great battery life and weight.

Very good drill would recommend got in a pack so very good for the money. Used for a while and everything still works perfectly. Very easy to use and lightweight so comfortable in your hand

This drill simply awesome , and packs a punch , plenty power with the drill, various settings, be warned it could hurt your wrist , on a serious note another fantastic drill by dewalt , brushless also. And not too heavy on hand

Great drill lots of power even capable of drilling large cores holes Only downside is there is no clutch on it so you have to be careful if drilling larger holes

This thing is a b east beware as you could hurt your wrist its got that much power even better is with the advantage coming the rice sgould drop

I purchased the 996 after my 796 packed in. The 996 offered so much more capability for the level of work i required from a drill, its three speed settings allow for greater control and the electronic clutch mean the drill will not be put under undue pressure and improve the life of the unit. A fantastic piece of equipment that cant be matched by any other brand.

So much oomph in this bit of kit. Keep a hold of it or else. Lol.

It’s brilliant power wise, the 3 speed settings are a god send. I’ve lent mine to various people when on a job with them. Always have to keep an eye on the metal workers though as using it to put 10mm holes in steel snags and hurts their wrists now and again lol.

Iv recently purchased this as part of a kit iv had older models and I’m very impressed with the new torch selection function it just feels very sturdily I use it when I’m fist fixing to drill out joist .

If a well know beer company made drills they’d make this.
I’ve tried almost every 18v drill on the market and this is way out there at the front in my opinion.
3 speeds, tonnes of power for everyday use.

Great drill used daily for almost 3 years, plenty of power for most jobs. The only time it struggled was drilling 32mm auger bits into larch logs on a cabin going about 250mm deep, had to give it a rest to let it cool down but it managed everything I needed. I'll gladly replace it with the same again

One of the best, it's a beast the 3 speed gearbox helps when using holesaws, easily drills 5.5mm holes for back boxes and red plugs - my go to combi

Ive had this drill for 3 years now and used it nearly every day. i have abused it and cut thousands off holes in wood, drilled countless 6mm bits in walls and cut millions of downlights. its still going but sometimes the chuck locks up. after all the abuse ive given it its a great tool, when it dies ill be getting another

Thie 996 is my second favourite drill against the 796, however she still gets a solid 5 stars. That little extra power is perfect when you need to drill a few holes into some concrete and can’t be bothered to go to the van. After my sds packed up I was even using this with a 1500mm long 30mm sds bit to drill a particularly tricky cable route through a wall, did I look silly? yes I did! did I get that cable route through that wall? Yes! yes I did!!

The best combo drill I have ever owned, to be honest I’m yet to find any Dewalt tool I am not impressed with, the 5amp battery lasts for days

I’ve had this drill for over 3 years and it still doesn’t miss a beat, I can’t recommend this drill enough it has all the features you want from a combi drill including 3 speed, electronic clutch and an led light all this and its made to last!

I have used DeWalt for a good number of years and they have always been really reliable. This does exactly the job, no fuss no blowing whistles, but so reliable. I always look to DeWalt, you cant go wrong in my opinion. Great tools and a good value for money price.

After going through many other manufacturers we finally decided to go with dewalt's flagship model. Build quality is amazing and the sheer power of the drill blows me away every time I use it. Keep up the good work dewalt.

Perfect drill for any job. It wont let you down. Well worth the money. Its tough, well built , 3 speeds, and electronic clutch is great. Even has a clip so you can clip in to your trousers to save keep putting it down on the floor

This drill is a great addition to anyone's tool bag its light enough to be used all day and powerful enough to do the job. I don't use the driver part off the tool as i have the impact driver as well so cant comment on that part off the tool.

Fantastic drill, power is the best I have ever had, coupled with the 5AH batteries it makes drilling out a breeze. The compact size is great for getting inbetween joists

Really solid drill from 6mm fixings to drilling 25mm holes through joists this drill does it with ease. Unlike the smaller versions this drill is very versatile and a great addition to the tool kit!

Bullet proof, near indestructible, wouldn't be without it. It's got everything I need, 13mm quick release chuck, hammer, work light , reverse, variable speed. Feels heavy & solid in the hand. Recommend the 4.0AH battery

Best drill i have ever owned, everything about it screams quality. Use it day in day out and i can never see it dying, but with that said all Dewalt Products are the nuts.

Worth every penny, this drill gets hammered every day, I push it to its limits regularly.

I have 4Ah batteries for it which are pretty good too but the level indicators dont last sadly.

Overall a damn good drill driver

I might be a bit biased as all my tools are Dewalt but this is a cracking drill. The LED light is bright and lights up very well in darker situations. It packs a punch on the masonry settings unlike some other cordless drills I have tried. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this drill to anyone

Bloody brilliant combi! Drills through almost anything bar heavy concrete. Although with the right bit it might. Going up from my original 775 or whatever it is, which has been shelved and not seen light of day since. I also shelved my rotary drill too. So I am carrying less drills around with me. I dont get my sds out as often either as ut goes through most solid substrate dead easy.

Having a work light built in has proven to be a lifesave a few times too!

This is a must have, if you want a combi 18v.

I've used many different drills over the years and nothing beats DeWalt, I have to say DeWalt are by far the best drills out there. I have now changed my complete drill sets to DeWalt.

Great drill I had my previous one for over four years until the batteries faded new one is great the only Down side is that the chuck loosen after use

The DeWalt 18v Hammer Drill is a vital part of my business and we could not do without it. The LED torch Is a smart feature. A Solid Built drill that has a nice bite to it.. All in All a fantastic bit of kit.

I bought this with the impact driver as a set The hammer feature on drills this small are normally not worth anything but this one really packs a punch. Really handy and has a great solid build.

This is an excellent drill, good build quality and good power. Brushless motor is a must. Very easy to use with all the features that would be expected. Not the cheapest by any means but well worth it.

lightweight easy to handle, i have had this bad boy for some years now and its still going strong, A bit pricey but it is worth it highly recommend it.

This is one great drill had it for about 10 months and we have given it some abuse which is good and it seems that it's lasting as well. Having the 4 amp batteries help as well.
