Everbuild 505 Plasterer's GRIPCOAT® is specifically designed to provide an improved key to smooth surfaces. Contains a fine aggregate that provides a mechanical key to backgrounds such as plaster, concrete, painted surfaces, textured surfaces and ceramic tiles. One coat application, coloured blue to indicate coverage.

Plaster swears by this product and I’ve used it to prep for him before.
It dries quick to recoat, it creates a nice surface for new plaster to adhere to.
It’ll ruin your roller but for the advantages you cannot really complain much.
