Ford Transit Van

Had a ford transit now for a few years. Had no complaints at all until my van was stolen. Only after it was stolen I realised how easy they were to get into. I have purchased a 16 plate since and have had to spend nearly £2500 on extra locks, alarms, trackers etc. I think the basic security should be greater considering the amount of money they cost.
Apart from that though, overall I am happy with the van. They look smart, drives nice and the L3 wheel base allows me to get loads of materials in.

Always had a ford transit for work and is a good work horse. Good spacious cab with lots of compartments for brochures and paper work. They have been let down by their security tho

Have a 13 plate transit and it’s an absolute workhorse.easy and cheap to repair not that I’ve had a lot of issues with it.
Getting an upgrade in a few weeks time and I’ll be sticking with the transit.

We've got 4 of these vans in our fleet. Happy to say they've done us proud. We bought them rather than rent, so we now own 2 of them. I'd add extra security to any van, but I understand these are a must for transits. Nice van, reliable and go for miles!!

Just recently purchased a transit and I have to say I wasn’t a fan to start with , really don’t like the shape but that a side I love the other features it has , the storage spaces and the reliability, was a Vauxhall fan before but I’ve been converted

I bought my Transit back in 2005 brand new, had it all decked out. I still have this van today and it is in good nick for the year. I have had the clutch and duel mas flywheel upgraded and made a big difference in the pulling power. Transit 350 MWB Medium roof.

Got a second hand 57 plate since 65k now got 141k on it, minor repairs as I’d expect for a van that age but nothin really major as long as you can learn to live with the engine management light on. Very cheap to repair drives quite like a car.

I have about 5 other vans. The ford transit is my favourite van to drive. It drives like a car, its fast and handles very well. The rear of the van is all squared off so nice to fit shelving.

Have 2017 limited with the new 2.0 engine I like the van but the add blue is pain as had few issues with that, I have 2013 model with 2.2 before this one and felt the engine is that was better pulled better and was smoother,

Have a couple of these Ford transit vans and have nothing but high praises for these vans they are made with the everyday builders in mind

Love my van, had camera and sat nav fitted. It’s mid roof so triple ladders and 3m trunking fits great in the bulkhead so no need for roof rack. See a lot of rust marks though above the windscreen.

I have the transit custom and what more can I say awesome van drives superb. Plenty of room in back for all my tools and racking. Only down fall I would say is I get through a lot of front tyres which is down to the power steering I’m told.

Company uses transits, an after 85k miles it’s never let me down, other than having a new aux battery this year it’s never in the garage. Plenty of load space even with all the racking

Great vans. Look the part.

Security can be an issue in places but there’s now updates. Really nice vans to drive.

Depending on the spec all the features are mint.
Ford have always been good to the tradesman with little gadgets and extras that other vans don’t provide.

Would recommend to landscapers and any trades man better than viva to and the likes

Having had four transit vans and two minibuses I am a fan however I am disappointed at the rate the bodywork deteriorates, I find them fairly reliable and happy to drive over France having already covered 160k miles.

Its a pity that these vans are so easy to get into. They are a great. An very comfortable full of handy extras and can take a fair bit of weight in the back of them

Had a problem with part of the engine just as the van came out of warranty despite being serviced and checked by ford every year. Their customer service was extremely unhelpful until a solicitor friend said we would take them to court and then they couldn't do enough to help. The van took absolutely ages to fix and after much persuasion they agreed to give me a courtesy van

I love this van, I love the layout, the space in the rear, the integratin with my phone i's good.
BUT, as is well known, the security is appalling. My 65 Plate van got broken into twice. Both times took less 2 minutes. This level of security would prevent me from every purchasing a transit again.

Overall this is a great van only to be let down by the manufacturers over there laid back attitude to the safe keeping of our tools and products. I bought a brand new van recently and asked for extra locks of some kind but this is not possible for ford to do, I had to pay £600 for after market security on a brand new van.

Love my 10 plate transit , signs of rust just appearing but has never let me down . Had extra security fitted and tracker so I have peace of mind

Took a transit custom for a test drive,
It was a nice drive but the security was not good enough so I desided to get a Vauxhall vivaro

We all know that transits are made of tin foil these days, security is not very good and well documented that being said I love my van! One issue when I first got it and ended up having a new gearbox under warranty but other than that no issues. Have it waxyoiled every year to try and prevent future rotting!

I have had ford transit vans for the last 15 years only van I would have for our trade just renewed in October last year and what a van it is the best one I've had condition wise great on fuel and gets all the tools and materials in no problem great grafters van

Had my transit for almost 2 years and didn't have any issues with it at all. Lovely van to drive. Ford have really let us down on security though. This is a big worry and something I will be looking into more when I buy my next vehicle

MK8 custom lwb. Loads of room in cargo area plus hatch that opens under seat to allow for 3m plus lengths inside vehicle.
Great spec with hands free blue tooth, air, elec mirrors and windows heated screen. Drives well and does 35mpg knocking around better on longer journeys. Can't fault it yet.

I've driven many of vans, but the good old tried and trusted transit seems best option for me. Decent van not bad on fuel and servicing isn't too bad. Does the job and don't have many issues with it

Mine is 61 plate, had it since new. Only problem I had with it was when a kog snapped. It wouldn't start or drive. Was a part metal/part rubber kog.
On the plus side, it was straight into garage and fixed relatively quickly.

Thought of changing to new one, but not as much storage in cab as current one.

I feel it's the better "work van"

Great van only ever used transits as they seem to take the bangs and knocks better than alternatives

Great vans. If your buying a van it's the one to have

I use ford transit and think this is best van on the road my van dosent see garage from mot to mot and this keep me on the tools
