Hi there, Scott here from SC Electrics, reviewing Gorilla Glue Grab Adhesive for Expert Trades. First things first, this is a construction adhesive. This is not a hair product. Right, so, in true video style, we have one here we made earlier. Here we have, well, if you don't know it's a brick maybe this is not the glue for you.
What we did, and hoping this kind of works, this has been sitting for about two hours. There's a good bit of adhesive on this. We're going to see if it holds. Straight up. I must admit it seems to have a pretty good hold. I don't know how much I'd trust it but after 24 hours it does seem to be quite strong. We have found a wee bit slippage with this when we use it which, hopefully, I'll be able to show you now.
So, I have a slightly smaller brick, in line of what I believe these things can actually do. So, we'll get loads of this stuff. Using this Gorilla Glue we will plaster the timber. That's probably way more than common sense tells you to use. Put the cap back on, always put the cap back on, you want to be able to use it again. And we will stick, nice clean surface there, our brick to it. You'll notice, of course, I'm using old bricks. Recycling is very, very important. I don't really know how much good these will be afterwards, I can't really imagine I'll be building a house with these. So, as per instructions we hold it down for 30 second to a minute and we'll see how well it actually holds.
So, first things first, break away to stand at an end, like that. And as you can see, fair bit of slippage. So, generally, as a glue, it's brilliant, Grab Adhesive, not really quite as much in my opinion. I've set a few things up and even a small bit of timber seemed to slip about 10 mil. It wasn't really critical because of where it was, but it's not really something you want to see.
So, stick you on again. Again, we'll hold you, we want to try to lift straight up. So, lets see how much Grab actually really has. Put you down that way, and we'll squeeze and squeeze and squeeze. So there's a lot of pressure on this. There is of course my nice thick plastic to protect my workbench because I don't have that much faith here. And we lift it, and see if it'll actually hold the weight of the brick. And again, it seems to do all right. There is a wee bit of weight in the brick. It is only a half brick. I don't think it would hold a full brick. Doesn't appear to be, oh, coming apart too much. Hello, I do believe, if I keep holding this... It'll fall, and right on to my top. Lovely. That's going to be fun to get out.
Anyway, as you can see yourself, it is a good glue, as far as Grab Adhesives go, well, I think we've all seen a lot better. Thank you very much. This is Scott for Expert Trades and we'll see you again soon.
