IRWIN® Blue Groove 6X Stubby Wood Bit
Irwin Blue Groove 6X Stubby Wood Bits are ideal for drilling wood and offer 6 times faster drilling penetration than a standard flat bit. Their 'Tri-Flute' design allows for faster chip ejection and their full screw tips ensure ease of use and pull through. The cutting spurs produce clean holes with minimal breakout and the tapered flute reduces binding. The drill bits are also heat treated for extra durability.
Stubby drill bits are 10cm (4in) long, making them ideal for drilling through joists or in enclosed areas. Suitable for holes up to 5cm (2in) deep.

Nice clean fast holes in joists.
Short enough to get on the impact and between tight joists, not quite enough for a double but easy enough to get around.
Got a few nails with these which didn’t seem to have much effect on first examination but after trying to use them again they are now rendered useless. Have replaced the most common sizes a couple of times for stray nails.

Great drill bit for clean wood. Great when you know you are not going to hit a paslode nail that seem to be absolutely everywhere in the jobs I work. One nail
Gets in the way and unfortunately it never recovers. Also havent had any luck trying to resharpen due to the shape of the flutes

Very good little drill bits fits in the more awkward places great for the job they are built for would normally use the blue Bosch bits for most drilling but these will fit in the places others wont

Very useful little drill bits, especially useful for drilling joists due to the the short length. Very quick drilling, and stay sharp for far longer than others I have used.
