Review for Ledlenser W2R WORK Inspection Lamp by SSE Rail
11th July 2023
I've had it this couple of days, been using it. Do find it really, really useful. A small sort of torch just to keep in my tool bag. It's a floodlight and it is also torch. The floodlight bit has two brightnesses. There's a low brightness and a high brightness. And then at the end of the torch, there is the actual torchlight itself. Charges up with a USB-C cable. The world seems to be going that way now. The actual torch is a nice handy sort of size. There's the button at the back which switches it on. you've got two brightnesses on the floodlight. It does give a good sort of output. I do have big, big floodlights that I end up using if I'm working in a loft to give me a lot of illumination, but this one's got me out of a hole a couple of times when I've just nipped into someone's house over the last couple of days and needed a torch rather than nipping back to the van. It has been in my tool bag. So I do like it is a sort of small pen sort of size. You do also have the actual torch bit at the end. I've got other Ledlenser stuff. I've got the head torch, which I've had for a few years, which again is brilliant. This one has got a rechargeable battery, which I've already put in because I've been using it. The USB-C port is just on the front. It's got a nice sort of rubber band just to stop any water going in inside that. it's a really great bit of kit. Nice small, and compact, and it's just easy to stick straight in my tool bag. In the lower mode, the battery will last longer because it's not as bright, but it is plenty bright enough to see into a sort of loft space. It's a nice soft, cool white light. There's no sort of hard patches in it. It's just one continuous level of light all the way through. The spotlight is ideal if you want a stronger, more intense beam to sort of look further in certain sort of spots where you don't need illumination for the whole job. I've been using this for a few days and it certainly will find a spot in my tool bag as a permanent fixture. Just handy to have, just if you need to jump up quickly into a loft space or somewhere dark just to see what's going on rather than having to go back out to the van to get the big floodlight torch. So yeah, it's definitely worth getting. Give it a go.

Trying out the Ledlenser W2R work light with seven-year warranty. Comes all nicely packaged. Charging lead, the instructions. Nice spotlight in the end. Let's give it a go in the loft.
That's the first setting. Second setting. Little spotlight. Flood light setting's really cool. That is amazingly bright for a little torch.
Nice. Well worth the money.
Hi, everyone. It's Garth from Udell Electrical Services, Tool Talk. Expert Trades have sent me another brilliant product. It's the Ledlenser W2R work light. They've sent me that just to try out, so I've had it a couple of days, been using it. Do find it really, really useful. A small sort of torch just to keep in my tool bag. It's a floodlight and it is also torch. So the floodlight bit, which is this bit of the front has two brightnesses. There's a low brightness and a high brightness. And then at the end of the torch here there is the actual torchlight itself. So in the actual box, it's really nicely presented, the actual light itself. You get various instruction manuals. There is also a USB cable. It's a USB-C cable. The world seems to be going that way now. I do have a USB-C charger and it does actually say it on the box that it is a USB-C charger rather than the standard USB-A that we're all sort of used to. But the actual torch itself, if I get it out the box, it's a nice handy sort of size. There's the button at the back here which switches it on. So I don't know whether you can actually see that at the moment. I'm at a customer's house, I'll go into a loft space and try it out there. So you've got two brightnesses on this floodlight. It does seem to give a good sort of output.
I'll be honest, I do have big, big floodlights that I end up using if I'm working in a loft to give me a lot of illumination, but this one's got me out of a hole a couple of times when I've just nipped into someone's house over the last couple of days and needed a torch rather than nipping back to the van. It has been in my tool bag. So I do like it is a sort of small pen sort of size. You do have the actual torch bit at the end here. Again, you won't really see it just because I'm sat outside in the van, but I'll take it into the loft space in a minute. I've got other Ledlenser stuff. I've got the head torch, which I've had for a few years, which again is brilliant. This one has got a rechargeable battery, which I've already put in because I've been using it.
The USB-C port is just on the front. It's got a nice sort of rubber band just to stop any water I suppose, going in inside that. And yeah, no, it's a really great bit of kit. Nice small compact, and it's just easy to stick straight in my tool bag. So I'll go into the customer's property where I'm just working and I'll go into the loft space and let you have a look at it. But that's the W2R.
So as you can see, I've jumped into my customer's loft space and we're quite lucky on this job that there's lights already fitted in the loft so we can actually see what we're doing. But I'll turn them out and then we can have a quick look at the brightness of the Ledlenser. As you can see, it's really, really dark. So I'll stick the torch on, and that's the lower mode. In the lower mode, the battery will last longer because it's not as bright, but that is plenty bright enough to see into a sort of loft space. It's a nice soft, cool white light. There's no sort of hard patches in it. It's just one continuous level of light all the way through. If you press the button again, it goes off, but then press the button twice, it brings it onto the higher level. So I'll just do that now. And you can see again, it's much brighter. Because it is brighter the battery won't last quite as long. I can't say, I charged this when I got it out the box, but I've been using it for a few days and I've not needed to charge it just yet. But again, it all depends on the brightness you have it and how long you're actually using it for. I think that it should last for quite a while. If you press the button again, it goes off, but then press it three times, it puts the spotlight, which is on the end of the Ledlenser, it puts that on. That's ideal if you want a stronger, more intense beam to sort of look further in certain sort of spots where you don't need illumination for the whole job. So as I say, thanks a lot to Tool Talk, Expert Trades for sending that out for me to have a go in trial. Like all the tools that I get sent, I do use them for a good few days or weeks, because we are an electrical contractors we do actually use these tools before doing the reviews, which I think is far better. I'm not the kind of person that just gets sent something and just does a review about it.
