Makita HR2470-1 SDS+ ROTARY HAMMER 240V

This is a fantastic SDS drill, it’s lightweight, easy to use, and powerful. Comes with forward and reverse gear, hammer drill is very powerful.

Love this thing! I picked it up for a house renovation which it completed happily and is still going strong. I deliberately went wired as I think SDS needs that extra umph that you can't get without spending mega bucks on a cordless. The cord, however, is really long and sturdy which is handy when working on site

this was the first tool i ever brought ,over 20 years ago and it is still as good today as when i brought it .i hace hammered over the years and it still keeps going

Smashing drill from makita not the most powerful one ive ever used but does what it says it can do and does it well. Our firm owns 2 and not had a problem yet

I’ve had the 110v version of this and 230v version for a while. This is for when the battery version struggles. Like for drilling 25mm holes at a large depth, or cleaning out chases. I’ve abused them to bits by having them on constant hammer mode and using the armeg tri-cutter head but they stilll are going strong.

The Makita SDS range is excellent. So easy to use, and is such a dependable tool. The case is compact and solid and normally comes lots of good accessories such as drill bits and chisel points. Really can't go wrong with this one. Eats through concrete.

Great bit of kit, initially bought for stonewalls where cordless just wouldn't cut it. Used for drilling 20mm holes 800 deep and didn't struggle once. Even used it as a core drill with an SDS adaptor in a pinch when it failed. Again didn't miss a beat, would highly recommend for the price

Having had this hammer drill prior to getting cordless version I was so very pleased with its capabilities and pleased to say I would highly recommend to anyone.
The SDS chuck is great, depth stop, additional handle and plus carry case are of great quality so a good addition.

Each engineer has one and swears by it. Amazing bit of kit and not had an issue with any of them in years. Comes with a great carry case and a set of common SDS bits.

Had one of these for years now, very good value for money, powerful as a breaker as well as a drill, even use this drill with a 100mm diamond core but in it as well, which is a bit extreme but it copes well.
For what they cost they are a very capable drill.

Great bit of kit however my only negative comment I can give is that the push button on the side of the handle to keep the drill running without having to hold the trigger pops out on its own too easily which can mean constant stop starting when using it in hammer action to remove render etc.

Great value for money, I’ve had my current one for five years with no problems and the one before that is a longer I’m always using it so it’s got a hard life and never skips complete.

Great drill & a great price. I’ve had mine for 4/5 years without any problems. I wouldn’t use anything else.

If I was limited to one sds still this would be it (and I was for a long time).This drill can handle almost anything,I even use mine for core drills . Had it for about five years now, never lets me down.

A tough drill that I’ve had years and is still going strong, the hammer option is very good considering the size of it, I do abuse it and also use it for core drilling really testing it’s limits and it’s not struggled yet,

I have been using this for core drilling and it has the power to do the job. Little bit too expensive for a plug in but I find the build quality makes up

This Drill is the daddy for your everyday 240v jobs it dose anything from drilling to chasing walls as the saying goes this on takes a hammering and keeps on going. Had 2 of these so far and have no complaints the grip is expecially handy and can be moved to a position to suit the job and the cable is a at a good length for those out of the way jobs.

I have had this drill many times over the years can't fault it for the money
I do tend to abuse it somewhat so I accept that every couple of years it gets replaced
But I wouldn't be without it

Got the 110. Gets hammered all the time, lots of chasing, days on end drilling peg holes etc. Been going for a few years hasn't even needed brushes yet. Can't ask for more for near enough 100 quid...

This is a very handy piece of kit great for knocking out the odd brick. Very fast for drilling holes

Had this drill for a few years now and its still going, clutch can be a bit sensitive but for the price i paid it has more than earnt its place.

Usually go for dewalt but thought I would try this drill it's been perfect, very reasonable price and well built.

Not a bad drill having the chisel action is great and is helped by the drill being quite light compared to other drills i have used.

Brought this and thought it's made by Makita I can't go wrong..... what a mistake 1st use failed on drilling a hole for a flue so took it back and replaced for the same again. After a few weeks drill again failed. So returned and got Bosch completely different class

Got this on offer from screwfix to see how out did on core drilling. Have a bigger drill but it's heavy as anything. This is loads lighter and still dies a great job. Sometimes feels like the clutch is a bit light but better than the alternative. Manages everything i throw at it. I have the cordless for less heavy work but out of curiosity i tried a 40mm core with that and it managed

Robust and does the job, would recommend for a decent, cheapish SDS. Had mine for a few years and gets heavy use (window fitting)

good value SDS drill will cope with most you throw at it with ease

Great tool, does what it says on the label, if you're looking for value for money, get one!
