Very very impressed with the Milwaukee 18v wet and dry vac.
Having used the dewalt also this seems far superior, stable and powerful, easy to use and very compact.
All the accessories and hose fit inside the lid and it’s very easy to empty too.

I’ll be getting another as soon as it fails. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

Great as a day to day wet vac! Don't use it much for dry dust but empties toilets and cisterns with ease before moving. Remember to change the filters between wet and dry.

Amazing little vacuum cleaner. Use it everyday for cleaning boilers mainly. I bought a 12 Amp battery to use with it and that just put the icing on the cake ! One small gripe is the cost of the filters.

As a wet vac I highly rate it and use it daily for catching spills and emptying toilets and cisterns. I would say if you intend to use it for wet and dust then get the special wet filter made from black foam and remember to swap them when changing jobs or youll end up with a choked filter and be wondering why.

The term "golf ball through a straw" doesn't get used often enough but it really applies here. This has as much suction as most cabled vacs but is a lot more portable. Brilliant for cleaning up at the end of a job or even as a dust extraction on chasing jobs.
Has a short hose but that doesn't lessen the benefits

Absolutely fantastic little wet vac, use it pretty much daily. It also packs away neatly with all the parts contained in the Hoover box.
Great for boiler repairs when replacing parts, as there is always water left the boiler even after draining it down.
Also picks up dust pretty well for keeping the job clean throughout the day.
It does however eat through the batteries with a 5amp you get roughly 20 minutes runtime but can probably fit a 9amp without any issues

A brilliant addition to my van. This vacuum works with any Milwaukee 18 battery, but a 5Ah battery seems to be a realistic minimum.
It works wet or dry, and has a replaceable (and / or cleanable) filter. it comes with three nozzles and an adapter to clip to power tools, which all sit in cut outs within the lid.
Its flexi hose also stows neatly inside the lid, or it can be moved to the outlet if you want to use this as a blower (useful for cleaning dusty tools and boxes).
It is lightweight but powerful, easy to get in and out of tight spots and it picks up a heck of a lot.

Great product, has got me wondering how I survived without it! Becomes expensive if you don't have a charger or battery. Does go through batteries as well. It's sturdy and fully enclosed in its case so nothing to catch or get damaged in the back of the van. Very happy with it's suction in both wet and dry mode.

Purchased this primarily for wet use when replacing components in gas boilers as their is always residual water even after you have drained it down and it works even better than I expected and caught all the water. The suction is on a par with some corded vacs I have also used it with a core drill and it kept the dust down and cleaned up the left over dusk when I had finished. You just need to get a high capacity battery of 5amp plus any lower will run out quickly.

This is one of my most important tools, it give that professional finish web. Doing a job that you have your own vacuum. It could have a bit more power and you need to clean the filter out every few uses. Make sure you get the newer model that the hose is stored in the lid not on the side like the one pictured.

It runs on my drill battery and the battery will last for ages, it has a powerful suction and a large storage bucket

Hi guys. This is Dave from DCB Plumbing and Heating doing a Tool Talk review for Expert Trades. Today is a lovely Sunday morning. Sun's been shining, having a nice morning. I've been carpeting the new van and I thought before I start to tidy up I would do a Tool Talk review on probably the best tool that I own. It's a tool that everybody has in all different variations and different sizes and shapes and everything like that and it's one that you will use every day and you will definitely, definitely take for granted. Today I'm going to be doing a Tool Talk review on a Hoover. Right. Let's get to it.

Electricians, you might as well turn off now because I know you guys don't know what these things are, so these things are called Hoovers. The one I'm going to be doing a review on today is my Milwaukee cordless battery Hoover. See if I can tilt that down a bit for you. There we go. Right, then. To start with, it is very, very, very powerful. You've got a long flexi hose that sits neatly on the right, on one of the sides obviously and I think, as far as I remember, someone told me when I was buying it, it's 1.5 metres long fully stretched out as long as you can stretch it.

The really, really good thing about this is it's actually a wet and dry Hoover. I use this for oil servicing, I use this for drilling radiators and soaking up water. This thing's been an absolute godsend. But the piece de resistance, of course, is this runs off the exact same battery ... As you can see, I'm well prepared. Runs on the same battery that all my Milwaukee tools run on. I always keep a five amp battery in here as you can see. With a five amp battery I normally get between sort of 50 and 60 minutes, which doesn't sound like a whole lot of time, I suppose, but when you're using the Hoover for 30 seconds at a time, a minute at a time, you'd be surprised how long it does actually last. It lasts about the same as the equivalent Dysons and vacs, you know, the other cordless kind of things. It's a similar idea and time scale of that.

Everything you see here comes with it. So you get your crevice tool. Everything just fits directly on the side. What I call a carpet tool, just a long with a couple of grooves in so when you actually do scrape across, it still obviously creates good suction through rather than sucking onto it and never being able to let go. I'll just give her a quick switch on. It's very, very loud but it is very, very good at what it does. You probably won't be able to see them on there but couple of staples that I've had just trying to obviously get this carpet down.

Very big. Don't really want to open it too much because this is what you've got. This is the only way, the only thing that you've got to do to change it from ... There you go. If you can just see it, there's like a ping pong ball in there. Taking the filter off is what makes it into its wet vacuum. Obviously, it does need to be empty before you do it. As you're sucking water in, the ball, I'm trying to show you best I can, the ball obviously goes up and up and up and up and then gets sucked in so that you don't get any water inside the actual mechanisms and the actual Hoover itself. And then to turn it back into ... Make [inaudible 00:04:09] emptied it. You've just got your big, big filter and it just literally slides on like that so it's very easy, very, very simple to use.

This Hoover genuinely has changed everything for me, from doing fire servicing to doing oil blow servicing outside, you know, where you've maybe not got an external plug or anything to plug into. The ease, the quickness, the ease, everything about it has just changed tidying people's houses. It makes it so much easier. So much easier. You can kind of do it as you go along.

And like I said, I've actually got six or seven batteries because all of my gear is Milwaukee, everything from me power drill to a big SDS circular saw, jig saws, you name it that's a power tool, all of mine is Milwaukee. I actually found this Hoover works perfect in that respect as well. It means I actually rotate the batteries because some months you do boiler changes and it's you're never taking the floorboard up because it's a simple combi combi swap, or fire servicing or whatever. So the battery that's in me circ saw sometimes doesn't get used very often or can not get used very often. The way I like to use this, obviously, is when this one dies just keep removing and removing and removing from the other ones and charge the one up and put the one that was in here back into the box so that I'm kind of rotating them batteries that little bit more just to make sure that they're not always out in the cold doing nothing. I don't know if it really makes much difference when it comes to batteries but I always try and do what I can to make them last as long as possible. It's the same with phones. I always try and charge them. You know how manufacturers try and tell you, whether it's true or not I don't know, but this has been an absolute godsend.

I really wanted to share it with everyone because if you're in the market for a Hoover, and possibly new power tools and you are looking at your power tools, maybe say you've got Dewalt at the moment and you're thinking about upgrading to something different because you've not had good luck with them or whatever, if you just think of upgrading to these because you like them, this is something that I didn't know about, actually, until I bought the tools. If I'd known about this prior to buying the tools, I'd have bought the tools years ago. Absolutely years ago. It is absolutely fantastic and it's just a godsend. I have to admit it's an absolute godsend. Thanks for watching guys. Cheers. Take care

Hi. I'm Dave from DCB Plumbing and Heating. I'm a member of Expert Trades and today we're going to be doing a review for ToolTalk.
Today I'm going to be reviewing the Milwaukee M18 cordless vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner instead of being plugged into the mandatory 240 volts, you actually use the same batteries that you'd use for your impact driver or for your cordless zig saw. Whatever you have that's Milwaukee and runs on a battery, this runs on that battery. It is wet and dry so you can take out the filter from the inside and soak up water. It is very quick at doing so. It's also, if you have been using a 5 amp battery, with that, I've been getting roughly between 40 minutes and an hour, which in vacuuming time doesn't sound like a lot. Obviously you won't be doing your house with it. It will be at the end of a job where you've got two minutes, 5 minutes, in the back of a fire, when servicing a fire.
It's all smaller jobs that I use it for. I don't know what it would be like as a full one, because it's not really designed for that. It's designed as a cordless vacuum, I suppose, same as your Dysons and things that are very equivalent in time and scale. The thing with that is, it's a superb, very efficient vacuum cleaner. It's very good at what it does. It comes with a few attachments. It comes with an extendable hose which we'll show you about now.
The reason I wanted to review this one today is because it is a cordless vacuum cleaner. What that means not only does it run on batteries, but it actually runs on the standard Milwaukee battery drill. So, if you have a Milwaukee battery drill, or a battery zig saw, or anting from Milwaukee that has a battery all it ... And there's two different styles in here. There's the old and the new version. You can get both batteries independent on how old or new your batteries are. It has both sections for it. So with that, you just literally pop that in. All comes complete with your larger attachment, and your crevice attachment.
It is actually both a wet and dry hoover as well, so if you're getting in there and you have a spillage of water, you can get rid of all of the water by taking the filter out of the inside. It has a big capacity and it has very good suction, I have to admit. So, this is a quick demonstration. Your on and off button is on the top. On this side, this comes with it, just the same. You have a long extendable hose. If you have it on this side, it is a hoover. If you actually put it on the other side, you have like a leaf blower. So, if you are trying to ... There're both the same connection so you can have the hose on either side, as well.
So, there's your blower section. So the same connection for the hose, it goes in either side. One's suction, one's blow. So there it is. Goes in very easy. So, simple. Just got a little bit of rubbish here, just a bit of general stuff after a boiler instal. Simple as that. Very easy. And then when you've got any crevices or anything to do, you've obviously got your crevice tool, which just slides straight on. Get in those little places. Big things, it doesn't obviously suction everything. And then of course, for your bigger jobs, if you're doing a carpet, if you've just got up and there's just a bit of dust, or light dust, you've got the larger one which is got the vacuum, so when it's sat on the floor, obviously it only goes through these little ones. You won't pick any big things up with this one.
The hoover itself works absolutely amazingly. It's been one of the best buys I've had this year, to be honest. It's saved me a lot of time trying to find a plug, or just to carry it in for service. It's obviously light weight. It's easy. If you're using it for two seconds, you can just slip in, while you're doing a fire service or something like that. Excellent tool. If you have Milwaukee batteries, you need this. You need this. It is about the same price as a Henry Hoover, so you're not actually gaining or losing anything. You just need to make sure that you've got decent battery in there as well. I use a 5 amp. Gets about 40 minutes to an hour depending on usage, which is a long time considering we've just used it for less than five minutes. So, you get a lot of usage from one battery.
Hope that helps. I'd give it five stars. It's a brilliant tool. Get yourself out there guys and get one bought. I would like to give it a five star review, because it's a fantastic thing. It's helped me out across the board. Servicing fires, just had a little job, you're not lugging the Henry in, or whatever hoover you might have out there. You can just bring it in. Quick hoover it up. You've got a couple of utensils obviously that come with it. It can go straight on to your zig saw. You've got your attachment for zig saw, if that's what you need. If you're trying to keep your sort of Christmas households or whatever. It's very good and it's very, very, very efficient in what it does. It sucks up anything that you throw at it.
I think it's superb. I think if you've got Milwaukee tools, I do believe it is a definite buy for you. It's obviously, if you have DeWalt Tools, with DeWalt batteries, it's not going to be what you're looking for. But, if you have Milwaukee, you have Milwaukee batteries, this is definitely the hoover for you. You should go out and get one guys. Top quality. Really, really good built quality on it as well.
