Been using this product for a number of years now easy to use, especially when doing first fix. Can be used in confined spaces. Build quality is very good, as expected from this manufacturer. Other products out there to do the same job but this stays on the back nuts

If you find something it fits it’s a great little box spanner, however I’ve not found a whole lot it’ll fit, so usually rely on the tapex kit or the trusty adjustable tap spanner.

One of the first ever hand tools I bought and has been used so many times. A great hand tool to get off stubborn backnuts. It fits tightly over the nut enabling you to remove it with ease.

Hi guys. This is Dave from Expert Trades, DCB Plumbing & Heating. Today I'm just going to do a little tool talk on this is a Monument back nut spanner. Of course, as always, I've got a few little instruments where we'll help me demonstrate, but of course how this works is it just goes over the back nut of whatever tap or anything you're using, and it's just simple to just get hold of it. That's with a brass back nut. Made a little bit of movement, but nothing, it is designed to do everything. A plastic back nut, it's pretty much the same. So I would have thought imperial to metrics would have been a little bit different, but obviously it's not. It fits quite well.
I'm going to try and show you on this bath tap now. You only need one hand, really. It's very, very good. You can use maybe a bar or something to go through and try and get that extra torsion on it, but it doesn't need it. Just doesn't need it. See if I can show you what I mean.
So this might be a little bit difficult to see, I understand that. Try and angle that torch up there. So there we have your back nut, up here. All we're simply doing. This is obviously your 22 mil side, the three quarter side, sorry. It does just literally sit over the nut itself. This isn't a pre-loosened nut or anything. I mean, I'm hardly even ... it's fantastic. You don't need anything but hand strength, and it's away. It's dead simple.
I shall try and show you again, if I can. Again here. This one I'm going to try and show you the basin tap. So for me, obviously, we'll take off the plastic nuts and replace them with a good brass one. It is very, very plain and simple. If I just pop this in, hand tight to show you. I'm just gonna ... so that's hand tight. This is it hand tight. You know, obviously, it's always going to move. Course it is.
So if I just get this all lined up like that, and then use my shorter edged side on here, and if I can angle this just to see me, if you can, all I'm going to do is with my right hand. I'm hardly, you probably can't see what I'm doing, of course, but just a little bit of, doesn't need much strength at all, and from that it is absolutely solid. And I've hardly, that's hand tight with the tool.
You just don't need any extra force with it. I know it does have a bar with it, but I'd be more frightened of cracking the basin. That's how good this tool seems to work. You get such a good grip on it. Obviously when you are doing it, if the pipe is in the way you can't get to the back nut. It is only a tool for when you can see the back nut. It wouldn't obviously take off any fitting or anything like that, because everything would be in the way of itself. It is just for clear fittings, fitting taps and whatnot. Obviously it is bath and basin compatible, so I have to admit, it's a five star tool. It's so chunky, really, really quite heavy as well. 100% five star. Definitely get one. It saves me time, saves me money, saves me effort, actually. Just effort. It is so easy to use. Take care.
