Another great product from monument tools. Easy to use and change depending on what way your tightening or loosening. Light tool and handy wee bar.

Used these a couple of times already and really like them, saved me having to pull a toilet out last week, they’ve replaced my other telescopic in my main bag. As I understand the lack of spring has allowed Monument to make the jaw smaller and therefore able to get into smaller spaces, the lack of spring does hinder your ability to use 1 handed but I think with practice you could get round this and the added features make up for this small pitfall. Something interesting I’m looking forward to exploring more is the incorporation of the “Grip+” system, it actually makes the tool interchangeable with other Monument kits I’ve acquired recently.

Just bought a new one of these as the teeth on my old one had lost their bite , they lasted 20 years or more though. The new ones are great and really grip the back nuts on taps and the nuts on tap connectors. Ive tried all the other types, spring loaded, telescopic etc but these are still the best in my opinion

I’ve got the tapex kit and it’s brilliant. But this still lives in the bag and gets good use.
Takes a bit of getting used to but very valuable tool.

Would love it if the bar were a little better at staying in place. Fell out behind a unit never to be retrieved.

This is a great idea in principle and some jobs I wouldn’t have been able to do without it but I found it broke easily, I’m now on my 3rd one but have been replaced for free every time

Just throw away your basin spanner’s. This tool does the job. I’ve been using them for years. When you first use it, it can be tricky. But once you get the knack, you won’t look back. It comes with two size heads for gripping nuts etc. And because it’s slim, it fits into very tight and awkward spaces. But what I like more about it is that you can use this on boilers! Where it is difficult to get in between components. So it’s not just for basins etc. It’s a handy piece of kit that will aid you in tightening or un tightening any hard to get to nuts on basins or boilers. Always have one in my kit.

This and a box type tap spanner are the only ones you will need In your van. This spanner is awesome but will drive you crazy at times. It gets into tight spots. It does however sometimes slip as it has a joint just below the claw at the top and the claw just won’t seem to grip when your in the tightest spots with one hand trying to hold back your wish to just smash the old tap out and leave.
All in it’s the best tap spanner if it’s sort.

Ive tried many different tap spanners over the years but this really stands out, the thin jaws make getting in to tighten/loosten tap nuts that are tight to basins a dream, build quality is excellent and you have no concearns about the main shaft bending under torque like i have had with lesser basin spanners.

This is the industry standard, in fact you can tell a lot about a plumber by his tap wrench, if they have this then you know they know what their doing, any other wrench may cast doubt. I honestly think it’s an great tool.

Top of the pile for me, the best tool for the job and an essential piece of kit for all professional plumbers and Heating Engineers.
And virtually immortal because it is so well made and easy to pack in with your other tools.
Brilliant

Ive used a lot of different basin wrenchs and found the the grip on the nuts was never as good as id like it to be, these teeth on these actually grab the nut really well, the fact I can attach a wratchet spanner onto the end of these to get a really good seperates this from everything else and blows all the others out of the water...absolutely love these!

The only basin wrench to own in my opinion. Solid, well engineered and invaluable on odd sized nuts on baths, basins and boilers. My only gripe is the nut to secure the other claw isn't the best design, I've lost a claw this way, but you can buy them separately, so it was replaced

Easy to use. Had one for years!

Better than most others, I lost one of the heads on mine but the one that is left works on all nut sizes anyway.

Very simple and easy to use. A few accessories are available to use with this, making it very useful.
Only thing I would change is to somehow fix the jaw on so it can't fall off.

I just can't work it in the right spaces I need it... I find this tool infuriating! I always have it in the box and I always smash my knuckles when I resort to using it. I'm sure it's my technique or maybe my fat stupid hands but I don't get along with it.

I have had this for many years now, about 5 & have been able to adapt it to many uses to enable me to give my customers a better gauge, ha, of what water pressure they have in their house.
This is a crucial bit of kit when sizing & advising customers on their required boiler for example.

Right then guys, Tool Talk. I just wanted to show this Monument Basin Wrench. Had it for years, didn't realise all the benefits of it. So you got this, which is part of the Grip+ Range. I just used to use one of them Allen keys before. Makes light work of it really. So, the thing I don't like about it is, is these little black caps, tend to lose them. As you can see, it makes it pretty easy. I know you can get ratcheting ones, but to be honest, this does the job. Simple but effective tool. I really like it and there's loads of other bits that go onto that Monument Basin Wrench. I'll dig some out and make some more videos on it. Cheers guys.
