Now then, people, hope you're all doing good, it's Macauley from SmartPipe Plumbing services. Before I get started, just want to say a massive thank you to Tool Talk TV and Expert Trades for sending me out the Monument three-piece set adjustable spanners with the thin jaws and the micro spanner, which is the four inch spanner. So we got the four inch, we got a six inch, and we got an eight inch spanner.
We'll start with the micro one. Handy to have in your pocket. I think I'll be replacing it with the one that I have in the pocket at the moment. So I usually have this one. Which you can see the comparison in size. So this one's actually a six inch, this is four inch. And if we open them all the way up they go to the exact same size. So, it's quite heavy, so in my pocket that'd be great. Just throw it in my pocket. Great for drain-offs, anything really. Just get into tight places. Sometimes under sinks, tighten up the back nuts underneath the taps. Handy to have in your pocket.
And then we've got, like I say, the six inch and the eight inch thin jaw adjustable spanners. Both exactly the same, except one's bigger than the other. So let's open it up.
So it will go right out to 34mm. Very good bit of kit. Really nice in the hand, it's got a rubber grip on it so it won't slip. Got your holes to hang it up if that's your thing, you want to hang it up. Really smooth in adjusting it back and forth.
You can see there how thin it is. So they've actually just cut out an indent in the standard spanner, which would be really handy for, let's say your bleed vents on radiators, getting on top of bar mixing showers, where you've got the exposed riser rail. Sometimes on the bottom of there they have a really small gap to get a spanner in. And probably nine times out of 10 a normal adjustable spanner will not get in, so that will be perfect.
One thing that I thought that will be really good at, and I've tested it out myself, is for your second fix kit for your showers. So this one ain't too bad, but a lot of them probably have a really small slot to get your adjustable on. And this fits on perfectly. You adjust it to size and it grips a lot better than a normal spanner will, because it's got less of a face to grip onto, which actually gives it a better grip.
So yeah, really good bit of kit, highly recommend. Will be using these going forward. I'll probably be having one in my plumbing tool bag. I'll probably have the small one in my service bag and the big one in my plumbing bag. Because if you imagine, it would be handy for boilers, back nuts on boilers, underneath getting into tighter places. Really good bit of kit, Monument Masters, go check them out.
