The Record Power WG200 Wet Stone Grinder offers performance and versatility in a compact and easy to use machine. Some machines rely purely on the weight of the motor to apply drive to the wheel. This can be insufficient for more demanding tasks. The WG200 has adjustable torque so you can easily apply the correct pressure for the job in hand.
As the stone wears, its diameter reduces and so in effect the speed of the wheel's rotation is increased. On most machines you cannot do anything about this, but with the WG200 you can lower the speed to compensate. In addition, when you want to remove material more quickly you can increase the speed of the stone.
For added safety, its left hand nut thread ensures the grinding wheel is held securely with no danger of unwinding.

The price was far cheaper than advertised elsewhere, Tool Talk was definitely the best price at the time of my purchase (July 2021). The grinder arrived quickly and was well packed. The delivery was tracked and I received good communication from Tool Talk. It was quick and easy to set up with good instructions and even a DVD. The unit is solid and quiet with precise and smooth controls. The support arm and flat jig makes sharpening chisels (the only things I have tackled so far) "Childs play", you can't really go wrong. The components to take the blade angle and set the angle on the stone are a little flimsy but work fine. You could of course by better quality if used regularly. Comes with everything you need to get going other than the mineral oil needed to condition the leather honing wheel (I had to order separately elsewhere). There are a multitude of extra jigs available (although they are quite pricy) allowing the sharpening of just about any tool in your workshop. The WG200 is the smaller 8" stone but its far cheaper than the 10" WG250 and worked perfectly well for me. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product and at this price is a "steal".
