Review for Redbacks Pocket Knee Pads by D.A. Plumbing and Heating Ltd

I was very hesitant about trying the redbacks out because they are bulky and heavier than my regular foam ones but I am so happy that I purchased them now , after over 25 years of up and down on my knees all the time I was starting to struggle with my thin foam knee pads but from the first time I tried them they really are a game changer, you soon get used to the weight and thickness and it’s like kneeling on fluffy clouds. Also very good for when you kneel on a screw or stone as you don’t feel a thing

Heavy as a post curry shjt which causes them to drag your trousers down, however the comfort levels are way up there making them my go to knee protectors.

They can be left in your work trousers when washing without a problem, do not wash more than three work trousers at once or you will trash your washing machine.

I use them in scruffs work trousers and I do not have a problem fitting them in, plus they have so far lasted the test of time.

Got these recently to replace my foam style snickers kneepads as theyve had a good year long service.
Theres a lot of hype and raving about these pads being the ultimate for saving your knees.
Off the bat I found that theyre absolutely huge, barely fitted in my knee pockets at all but after 5 mins (each side) I managed it.
Theyre far more noticeable than typical kneepads, somewhat similar to duct taping chunky plush cushions to your legs or cricket pads. They look a bit silly to be honest.
They ride a bit below the knee at the top of the shin which felt strange but actually far better for prolonged comfort.
Ive found that by design, the more weight you put on them, the more they spread out to support you and as you take weight away, they regain form and help you on your way up.
I paid around £25 which is too much for what they are but cheaper than a time machine to regain decent pain-free joints.
I take this seriously as at 25 my body is utterly wrecked from disregard for my mortality. These are the only kneepads Ill be using from now on

I have tried foam inserts, strap on pads etc etc I tried these red backs after reading some reviews and have been spot on, they go in my trousers everyday for last couple of years and are comfy, maybe not as comfy as some but they are hard wearing and mine are still
Good as the day I bought them

So strong and soft these knee pads are great. The only thing I would say on the downside is I found them quite chunky in the pocket but when in use you will have no fear of getting achy knees as the Protection is top top level.

I bought these after reading recommendations on a Facebook group, I was dubious at first because of the cost, but I’m glad I listened to sense and bought them. They are heavy, which takes a bit of getting used to, but after spending a day working on your knees you soon realise they are great quality. You only get one set of knees, so look after them.

Just tried my first pair of these and once used the feel of them, their comfy to kneel on all day. A bit heavier than some knee pads but they don’t appear to lose their shape at all even after prolonged kneeing like the foam ones do!!

Wish I'd know about these years ago! After years of using the standard foam style knee pads which flatten out and lose their shape after a while I took the recommendation to buy these and I'm glad I did. They are the ultimate in comfort even when kneeling all day. They are quite a bit heavier than standard knee pads but the comfort outweighs this.

Been using these for a while now and would buy again but think they could bee maybe a couple of CM longer if this was the case would be a 5star product in my mind. Great knee protection and spring back to shape after being on them most of a day.

Bought these on the back of the good reviews on screwfix. To be honest I’ve only worn them once and had to take the mm out. They’ve absolutely battered my knees. I think they’re well over priced and not very comfortable at all

Very comfortable, life saving and last about a year before the middle splitts. These pads have saved my knees on many occasions due to the design. The fact that they can go in the wash is a great however you will find little bits of black plastic flaking off from the inside of the cloth sleeve, which isn't great.

Most comfortable and sturdy knee pads on the market! A little heavier than most, which I notice if I wear them all week but they're my go to pads when I'm going to be on my knees for long durations. Fit in snickers trousers too.

These are by far the best knee pads I’ve used whilst being on the knees all days. The red backs are Very padded and comfortable, and give great protection...but it does have its downsides.
They are very heavy, and do not fit in all trouser pockets. I’ve found they fit in snickers the best, and do not fit the slim scruff style trousers.
Would recommend if your always working on your knees.

Been using these now for around a year. I've never been a massive fan of knee pads that fit into your trousers, I've never found them tonne effective enough. Thus for years I have used knee pads with straps, straps that dig into the back of your knees, straps that snap and end up slipping down your legs. I was reccomended redbacks by users of a trade based Facebook page and have never look back. They offer fantastic protection for your knees, they're water proof helpful for me as I'm a plumber and they fit every pair of trousers I've used them in. The only downside is they are quite heavy, I wear a belt though and after a few hours I didnt even realise they were in! A must have!

Been using these knee pads for about 3 years now, I will never go back to using the foam knee pads. These are more expensive initially, but when you consider the cheap foam type cost around £5 a pair, and are flattened after a few weeks, and need replacing, the £25-£30 you pay for these is not a bad price. The only downside is they make my trousers even heavier than they already are, with the weight of all the random stuff in my pockets.

Build quality 5*- had them nearly 2 years and they are still perfectly fine, even go through the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Features 5*- um they are knee pads, they have some innovative feature amount honeycomb design if I remember the packaging, seems to work!
Value for money 5*- expensive but nearly 2 years in and still going strong, good enough!
Ease of use 3*- now this is the hard part, they are a bit big for the trousers I originally had, which were site ones, so cut them down, however, snickers trousers probably don’t need to cut down, not the easiest things to cut either..... and the main downside, the weight, they pull your trousers down a bit which then mean your knee pads are near your shins and have to be repositioned before kneeling. Not a massive deal though.

Would highly recommend.

I see mixed reviews on these. Are they actually comfortable because they're 3 times the price of my dewalt foam ones?

Answered on 19th March 2021 by Riverside Electrical & Property Services

I find them comfortable,I've been using the same pair for about 3 years now. The only negative is they are quite heavy, if you don't mind that, they're the only knee pads you'll ever need.

Answered on 19th March 2021 by ACR Plumbing & Heating

They are comfortable to kneel on more so than most others I have worn. They are heavy though and a bit uncomfortable when walking I found.

Answered on 19th March 2021 by SAFGas Ltd

They are comfy but as said heavy so I've gone back to the Snickers floor layers knee pads which have millions of small foam balls, they are lighter & just as comfy

Answered on 19th March 2021 by L Kennedy Property

I’ve been wearing the same pair for about 10 years now, yes they are heavy compared to other kneepads but when you wear them all the time ,you just don’t notice.I found them to be comfortable but more importantly my opinion bombproof. Personally I wouldn’t wear any other kind of knee pad.

Answered on 20th March 2021 by DAJ

Comfy but chunky. Good got being on one spot and not moving around a whole deal.
I much prefer my Fento 400’s but even more pricey still. But you can’t put a price on pro texting yourself.

Answered on 22nd March 2021 by RF Electrical

By far the best knee pads I’ve had, they are a bit chunky to start with but you soon get used to them. Fit perfectly in my skickers trousers too.
