I bought this when I started out in woodworking. It was completely square at 90 degrees. It holds against the face of wood very well. It is light and easy to handle and is an excellent entry level square. Just be careful when marking out with a scribing knife or similar. It can cut into the edge easily. The plastic is easily scored. But then my knife is very hard and sharp. If I was starting again, I would buy it again.
