Rugged steel centre punch has a mechanism which automatically strikes a blow when downward pressure is applied. Force of blow is regulated by the adjustable knurled cap. No hammer is required.

Another great tool from starret. Well made and easily serviceable and cleaned the tip is inter changeable. I have cut the tip off a spare tip and it works great for setting tacks into finishing trim or as a small punch
