Bit of a fad. Very few times you could actually use one. I bought it to try and it got stolen or lost but I haven't missed it. Cable rods will do the job just as well. Maybe useful in some applications but not for me.

Not something I have had to use a lot, spends most of the time in the van. It’s the kind of tool that comes in handy now and again and gets you out of a spot.

This is such a smart little invention with multiple uses! Not only is it fab for pulling cables in voids, ceilings for down-lights etc it’s extremely handy for finding joists! As it magnetises to the plasterboard screws / nails so you can locate the centres! Only downside is keep it away from your debit cards

Its a bit pricey for a magnet on a string. It has come in handy but it very rarely comes out as the rods are my go to for fishing cables. Just find that for the money it should come with a reel of some sorts to keep it ready to go as I find on the rare occasion it comes out I spend an age untangling it.

Brilliant bit of kit got me out of some hard situations where rods couldn’t help brilliant for installing spotlights when you can’t gain access from above.

Very effective bit of kit. Not something you use everyday but when you need it its there and gets you out of some sticky situations. Brilliant bit of kit. Bit pricey but once you have used it you will understand why!!
