TRACER Speed Square

Tony Lewis from AL Plumbing and Heating. I'm trying out the 175mm Tracer Speed Square. It comes with hip and valley rafter scales for roofing, helps roofers get accurate measurements when they're doing roofing work. It's a good quality tool made of quality aluminium. It's light but sturdy. The markings are etched on, so they're never going to come off over. I give the Tracer 175mm Speed Square five stars.

Hi, this is Andy Bennett from Bennetts Safe Gas. This is a Tool Talk Review, and it's for Tracer, and these are the speed squares. If you look on the back there, information on how to use it. Do we need it? Also, there's QR code up here, and then information just there. These come in, as far as I'm aware, just the three sizes. This is the medium. This is the big, as you can see, it's big. And then the teeny-tiny one, and compare that there. Sorry, let's move the big one out. There's the little one just there.
What I can say is I've been using this one for weeks now. I haven't done any big jobs, but it's such a nice little tool. It's a permanent square, obviously, and it just makes life easy. It sits in the toolbox. It's floating around. Don't know if you can see. There's tiny little dings, but it is proven. It lasts in the toolbox. You've got, obviously, your gauges like all the others, and you've got your squares, you've pivot points, your flat edge, yet very good for squares and 90s, 45s if you want. Very, very nice tool. Built very well.
Let's have a look at the big one. Yeah, it's huge. Obviously, you've got your rafter information, your pivot points, your centimetres, and you've got these points here, obviously, with your centimetres and your half centimetres. What I can say is, I haven't got the pencil here, but the tracer pen, it literally sits perfectly in there, perfectly. You can just scribe all the way up, and obviously, it's the same size on the little ditty one, which I've been using. Yeah, sits in perfectly. Doesn't move. Great. Great little add. Added feature, I don't think it was designed to do that, but it works very, very well. Yeah, so on all, brilliant little tool.

It'll help you find accurate measurements. With the roof trusses, it'll help you set out your bird's tooth and things that you need to construct a roof.
This tool, five stars all the time. It's strong, but light. And the etchings of the numbers and the measurements and the degrees is great, never come off.
