Redbacks
Redbacks® was formed in 2011 in order to develop our cushioning invention for which we now hold a number of international patents.
The technology is unique in that the patent is for the geometric structure and not the material; we are free to use any material that we deem appropriate to the product application.
The structure contains a flexible leaf spring, or springs, held within a geometric matrix, which provides support by suspension and not by compression. It is therefore unlike foam and offers numerous benefits that foam cannot.
Having researched the protective clothing market, we confirmed our belief that existing knee pads
did nothing to cushion, comfort or protect the user’s knees from long term damage; in the UK the NHS replaces over 90,000 knees per year. This figure exeeds 600,000 in the USA at an average cost of $45,000 per operation. We knew that for our knee pads to be really effective they needed to be made of soft flexible material and not foam, as pressure from kneeling causes foam to flatten or disintegrate.
This spurred us on to adopt a scientific approach in order to develop our first bespoke knee pad for workers who rely on long-term comfort and protection to their knees whilst working.
In September 2011 we secured a worldwide patent for the product and have since begun turning our attentions to other exciting applications for the technology, including footwear and seating.

Got a pair of these to replace my cheap pads, while there quite heavy in your trouser they are very comfortable, and once in my trousers I leave them in even when washing, not the cheapest but I was going through foam on a regular basis but had a pair for over a year and feel the same as the day I got them

I have owned my Redback knee pads now for a few years and are still going strong, I use them daily in my work trousers and work very well, I have tried many others in the past which just dont compare

These are the best knee pads l have ever had, they are more expensive but worth it.
Red back knee pads have a great strap system that means they don’t slip when you get up and down and give great cushioning when you kneel on them

Excellent knee pads. Bit pricey but worth the money if you're on your knees alot. Definitely extending the life left in my knees. Would definitely recommend to joiners / floor layers etc

Heard lots about these knee pads always used to use the foam inserts but still at the end of the day knees would still hurt with these they don’t so comfy however they are very bulky

Like kneeling on air! A carpet fitter recommended redbacks to me a couple of years ago and they are brilliant. Fit ok in snickers trousers if a little bulky but I’m really pleased and would definitely recommend

The first tip I got when I started plumbing was to invest in good knee pads to protect my knees.
After a bit of research I bought the Redbacks.
I’ve had them 3 years now and they still look the same as when I bough them.
They’re a bit bulky and it takes a while to get used to them but they never loose their shape are very comfortable kneeling down.
I’ve trimmed the sides a bit to make them fit a bit better in my trousers.
Highly recommended, best pads you can get.

What can I say I’m weigh nearly 19 stone and had to find a good knee bad that lasts I’ve had my redback’s is over 3 years and there still fine I’ve bought another set for just incase for insert knee pads best on the market i would also like them to make a strap set for when they shorts seasons!
