DEWALT DCS391 XR Premium Circular Saw

Very nice torque and a dead solid hold for the blade guide. Solid as per usual for DeWalt. Feels very controllable in use. Doesn't want to wander off. Happy with it!

I have used one of my work mates one of these and it was great. Had good power to it and it cut nicely and neatly. Your able to adjust the blade angle and level. I would definitely buy one of these.

I bought the DCS391 circular saw as a bare unit and got a 5ah battery for it. I have used a few lesser known brand circular saw before and this is head and shoulders above the rest.
With the 5ah battery, it gives you enough power to rip through the wood and even wood with nails.
I ripped apart some pallets which had some hidden nails and it went through with no issues.
The saw is only as good as the blade and the blade is great.

I have got the new brushless dcs572n what suits the guide rails. Its so easy to use and with the replaceable guide rail rubbers that stops the rail from moving about. Difficulty recommended this saw as it does to jobs for the 1 saw

Pretty good. Mostly does what I want of it but occasionally hasn’t been man enough for cutting through oak beams, especially when wet. I use the 5AH battery and it runs them down fairly quickly - so definitely worth having an extra on charge.

Very happy with mine, as a electrician it doesn’t get a tonne of use but when it does it aways delivers. It does bog down sometimes when ripping anything too big but its not designed for, its a great well priced saw.

I don’t own one of these but borrowed one off my father-in-law last year to do some decking in the back garden ( lockdown project )and it was brilliant. Don’t have anything to compare it to as it’s the only one I have used but did the job I needed it to do perfect so no complaints here.

Good tool to quick wood work repairs and jobs without much space. Light and there’s good power when used with 4.0 or 5.0 amp batteries. However, it look like was designed for left hand workers ... Happy overall!!

Not a bad saw by any means but not my favourite. It’s is slightly underpowered compared to rivals I own but is small and light so easy to use for lifting board etc.

Far superior to other brands in Themis saw category I have used this saw for long days cutting down posts and planks and it never fails, the saw is accurate and compact and the TStack just makes everything really handy too

Fantastic tool works well, a little bit tricky to put the Guide in and set up. Great for cutting sheets and also for taking floors boards up.

No complaints.
Goes through what I’ve used it for with ease, good on batteries, easy to use good visibility and control.

Put a slightly thicker blade on it for finer work as the supplied blades kerf was a little thin and caused big deviations going diagonal to the grain.

Needed a cordless circular saw in a hurry for a job that started the following day, had a bunch of DaWalt tools already on the 18v battery platform so it was a no brainier. I was pleasantly surprised at how capable this saw was, easy adjustments to depth and angle. Has a handy storage compartment in handle for hex key to change the blade. Most of the time I am happy with the saw however I do feel I should’ve gone for the larger bladed tool. I think I’ll save up and buy the larger flex volt circular saw at a later stage. Having said that it’s still a great circular saw for its price.

Another good bit of kit to have from Dewalt. Really ideal for ripping timber to different thicknesses and lengths, cuts through like butter. Used a lot for cutting up sheets of plywood, and with the ability to do different angled cuts it works a treat. Has the great feature to set at a depth so you do not cut too deep, found this useful on floor boards as you do not know if any pipes or wires could be under them. Seems to last for quite a while, but just depends on what you are cutting. Would definitely recommend to grab your self one of these.

Have two DeWalt saws both have different parts to play 18v very easy and lightweight flip-saw as been brilliant but could do with the lighter version.
As the flip saw is getting to be a A little too much to handle. Still think it the best on the market

As, primarily, a commercial electrician there is not a great deal of time that I need the circular saw. However on that odd rewire, what a fabulous bit of kit to get out of the van. Set the depth to thickness of the floor boards and off you go. Reliable and comfortable to use. Cant fault it at all.

Have 2 Dewalt circular saws both play differing roles in my work but wouldn’t swap either. The smaller DWS571 is ideal for a quick cut of sheet material or roof battens on the roof where a large saw can be too bulky. The DWS570 is great for more precise work and deeper cuts - I have Mafell corded saws as well which I use purely as a track saw.

I’ve had this 5 years now. It’s not used every day but it’s still used fairly often and the reliability has been great. It’s got a wide range of cutting angles and is easily used with multiple line markers. A light would be a good addition.

By far the best trimsaw I have ever had I have 3 of these hard working saws with a flex volt battery on and a good blade I can do a set of joists noggins and flooring with the one battery my oldest one is a type 2 changing the brushes last week was a pain took me over a hour to do and had to strip the saw down all most completely but all good now

Excellent saw, cuts like a dream, powerful, lightweight, robust, very bright work light, batteries last much longer than on my old Bosch circular saw. Dewalt became my go to brand, I’ve never been disappointed with a purchase yet and I’m a proud owner of 10 power tools by Dewalt

Absolutely smashing bit of kit, actually used it to cut up some sleepers for the bro in laws garden. Will certainly be making the transition to having more if this kit in the garage

Happy with this saw. Has plenty of power, light and a like the blade on the left. Has cut everything that I have thrown at it with no issues.

Bought from toolstation. Used to cut lots of deck boards, 18mm ply, 4x4 (cut each side) with a 4ah battery. It ate through the lot with 0lenty of charge and clean cuts great value for money and comfortable to use

This is so handy to have in your kit with a good blade this will do most jobs. I’ve went through 18mm mdf , 4x4 posts, fire doors, hard wood it does it without any problems. Great saw.

Quality piece of equipment. Cuts well and is quicker than setting up my mitre. Struggled occasionally with dense wet wood, but would expect that a bit. All in all pleased.

Had this saw for around a year and must say I'm very impressed with the battery life when using it. Great value for money although the blades are quite expensive.

Impressive bit of kit, battery lasts longer than I thought it would. I’ve had for around 12 months, would definitely buy another , was happy with the amount of pieces it cuts before having to change the battery.

This is the best saw it cut the wood very straight and very easy also very easy to used everyone should used it they should have it as will tray it

I purchase one of these saws as i didnt have one. Bought just the saw as already had the battsries to suitreally love how good the saw is and how quick it stops with the brushless motor. Ddfinitely a product worth buying to add to your kit

A great bit of kit, that will cut through anything. They are weighted just right, well balanced and comfortable to use. Swapping batteries is a doddle, with a 5ah battery lasting well.

Amazing bit of kit will cut anything you throw at it from floorboards to 18 ply sheets to worktops you can set the depth so you don’t cut through pipes or wires under floorboards or cut through your saw horse

Great peace of kit , easy to use and well balanced. Depends what batter you use it will cut through anything, oak to chipboard. Shame it’s not brushless? But they are cheap enough to buy when needed

Love this saw. Easy to use. Fairly light in the hand (depending on battery used).

Anything less than a 4ah battery though won’t cut for long.

I bought this on a deal in Electricfix? ( Screwfix? ) its great to cut floor boards and battons, its lightweight yet powerful. It also compliments my gtowing collection of Quality Dewalt tools.

Brought this from DVS whilst on offer. And it’s brilliant. So easy to chop out sections and remove floorboards now. Goes through most wood with ease with a good condition blade. Light and easy to use.

Been using this for about 2 years now, only use it a few times a week but when it gets used - IT GETS USED! brilliant bit of kit, great trigger control on it with no lag, and stops as soon as you release it.

Had mine for about 4 years it’s the type 10 model and it’s still going strong .I manly use it for cutting nogs for fixing boxes to but it’s never let me down.

2 years of use everyday still going strong as the day I bought it more than enough power specially with a good quality blade it for better performance, only down side it no led light which isn’t anything to grumble at really

Great saw, used daily for years now, and its big brother too. Easy to adjust to get a perfect setup, easy to use, plenty of power. The only downside is that the blade guard on both of the 18v circulars can get in the way when cutting a point and have to be lifted manually, and the pressure of the spring on the guard can try to force the saw off line which is easily counteracted.

Hi Bought this a while ago and I use it pretty much every day. It's cheap to buy and it's go so much power behind it. I can't recommend it enough.

Great bit of kit for there lower end saw I’ve had this product for over 2 years now and it’s always performed now looking to upgrade to the brushless one next if it’s half’s as good as this I’ll be happy

Use this on a regular basis, especially usual for cutting out the tongue and groove on floorboards - allows you to set the cutting depth tool less

Very good circular saw, for an 18v tool it's powerful enough to cut any wood I've tried it on. Gives a nice clean cut every time, the battery life is very good too.

I’ve had this cordless circular saw for almost 6 years now and it’s still going strong. It’s still cordless, still circular and still a saw so what more could you want??

Fantastic bit of kit. Only used it about 4-5 times so far but works perfectly. Definitely a must have. Wish I'd gone cordless years ago.

Great bit of kit, blades are quite pricey and are hard to find unless you buy all three. I usually need the blade with the most teeth for finer cutting, but the pack contains three assorted blades. Get a really clean cut and as with most of dewalt kit this has stood the test of time, had mine for a good few years now and had no issues with it at all.

I have had one of the Saws for 5yrs now. It is light and easy to use, has excellent functionality- adjustable blade in both depth and angle and a real pleasure to use. I have the full set of DeWalt power tools which means that all the batteries are interchangeable. This is important as I drive a small van and do not have a lot of room to be able to carry too many tools.

I find this a great tool except a couple off miner issues.
The hight adjustment is a bit fiddly, and the hight adjustment scale is a bit different to read.

Very good piece of kit, didn't intend to buy as it came in a set but everytime I've used it. I've been amazed.

Would definitely recommend the dewalt circular saw over any other circular saw and although it's not as good as a 240V

I'd say that you time you save getting extension out and using cables definitely makes the dewalt battery an overall better saw.

love it! great little saw, can cut things outside building merchant instead of putting on roof, really quick cut and I have had for 6 months and still on same blade. battery does get drained quicker then other tools but then that is understandable as speeds up cutting by about 10 times.

Great quality product from dewalt. Cuts straight clean an efficiently. Battery’s last well aswell as long as you’ve got a decent blade in! Don’t use mine that often but when I do it never fails

Good circular so not too heavy but a good
Battery on it and It last you for awhile although I have found a few people say if you drop them then they will not cut straight

Great tool, I’ve had makita Milwaukee Bosch hitachi over the years but I’m dewalt now! for site work dewalt are so tough and battery’s are fantastic too.
This saw though is fantastic great power

Had mine for for 3 years now, always best to replace the blades as soon as they start to wear down as it eats the battery's if not, dropped mine and bent the slide rail for depth but it was easy enough to repair and has worked fine ever since

Great little saw. I don’t use it much. Only for cutting chipboard floor boards in new homes. But great saw. Battery lasts a long time on it

Best 18v saw on the market, works great for me being a electrician, cuts floorboards up with easy, comes with a cutting fence and battery’s fit the 18v range

The lightest cordless I have use. Extremely simple to use, the 110v is now tucked away. Flexvolt battery on this turns it into a beast. Excellent value for money and have since bought the larger version too

You get what you pay for and this tool does what it says on the tin, good solid well built tool, I give it 5 star, we have 2, both used daily

This was bought after my 240 volt burnt itself out I’ve used this on a few jobs now love the cordless aspect no leads to look for a socket and extension lead and found very powerful nice compact size

Great quality as per usual get what you pay for with dewalt power feel and cut all 100% wouldn’t expect any less tho when it comes to dewalt previously had Titan and this trumps it

Owned one of these for a few years. Used in all weather , rain and snow, and still going strong. Great for cross cutting studs and joists, good battery life. Will rip as well but uses a lot of battery.

Great quality as always with dewalt battery's last long, light weight cuts fast, works well if you forget your multi tool and need to lift a floor board in a pinch.

Lovely tool cuts through anything once was cutting 8x4 had to turn them over as the blade wouldn’t go all the way through but done them will ease as said in other reviews a sharp blade is needed to help on the battery life

Dewalt at its best sorry that’s just my view .....this is great piece of kit I’ve been cutting English oak with mine and I can honestly say no problem

Cracking tool for ripping down anything and cutting up floorboards to cutting roof timbers I was so impressed with it I’ve since upgraded to the 54v model

Does what it needs to, well priced, only negative is it’s very hard on battery life even with a 6ah flexvolt battery being used.

Nice and easy to use, adjust and change battery. Keeping a good blade in it is key to holding a charge for any length of time. With a new blade it goes through floorboards, chipboard easy

Great bit of kit. Good power, easy to adjust depth of cut and angle and good life on 5ah battery....need to pair it with a better blade than the one that's included though.

The price of this circular saw there was no reason why you should buy it. Even if you just cut supports for noggins etc its so much easier than using a hand saw.

Excellent circular saw mine hasn't missed a beat for almost 2 years, keep a nice sharp blade in it and the battery lasts for a good amount of time. Depth guide could be a bit more accurate but other than that excellent

Love dewalt stuff - cant beat this saw. Depth stops works great, blade stops as soon you you let go for safety. Just the guide i find hard to guess where the cut is going thats all.

I bought one of these to add to my dewalt tool set, I should've have bought one sooner! Not a tool I use a lot but makes life so much easier than a corded one

Brilliant saw and quite light compared to some I've used the motor is a little bit on the side and is o it a little bit counter weighted to one side but when you get used to that it's absolutely fantastic bit off kit

Does exactly what is needed, perfect for ripping down floor boards ect. Not massive power but its not intended to have so overall well worth the money

Have had mine 3 years now. Had it to replace a Bosch 36v which was a beast when I got that! The dewalt wins hands down lighter smaller and more power. Have most of the 18v kit and never had any problems the kit gets a lot of abuse and is used hard daily

Always use dewalt stuff. This saw is brilliant for it's money

Good little saw for the size and needs that I have. It's great for lifting up floorboards without having to set up extensions as it runs off the standard desalt batteries. The blades seem to last for ages and I think I have only changed it once in the last 5 years.

Real good little saw, powerful for the size I use it all the time as it's light weight and easy to handle.

Gr8 little saw use mine all the time very powerful for 18v. Good on battery life aswell. I've had mine about 3 years now and still like new

Use this regularly, great power doesn't kill your battery too quick, good size fits in the tough boxes neatly, dewalt win for me

Although not used as much as it could be it's a very useful bit of kit, when needed to rip a length of timber when power isn't always an option, a little over priced for the battery and box combo but great value for the bare unit. Powerful even with a low ah battery.
