The ESi Controls 3 port motorised zone valves are easy-fit, with a simple clip on/off detachable actuator head and detachable cable. The actuator has been designed to fit directly onto the valve body used by the market leader, and similar type bodies, with the two supplied screws – making it a quick-fit direct replacement for most households.
The spring return valves have been designed to be used in light commercial, industrial and domestic central heating systems which, when correctly wired with an appropriate room thermostat, cylinder thermostat and programmer, will control the water flow from the boiler to hot water, and from the boiler to ‘central heating’.

Fairly easy diagnosis of the problem and very easy replacement. I got the valve+actuator just in case I felt like changing the valve too or needed it at a later date. The actuator on its own is only about £5 cheaper.
The button to release the actuator was, in our case, shoved up against a wall due to poor original positioning, but it's easy enough to slide one of the levers under the actuator body to release it from the valve.
Rewiring took about 10 minutes, once I got a "helpful bloke" to leave me alone. Would have taken 30 minutes otherwise.
I am not sure about reliability - I had to replace the actuator on my own system too a few years ago so maybe they only last about 10 years. But the ease of replacement makes up for this.

Good valve to install, nice and easy to replace too. Does a good job on what it needs to do. Ideal price, I have come across many of these and fitted many myself. I would recommend.
