Cordless angle grinder with a high power brushless motor, increasing power and reducing battery drain. Features automatic speed control (constant speed control), which automatically changes blade speed according to load. Electronic brake for rapid deceleration of blade. Anti-restart prevents accidental machine start up, current limiter and anti-kickback detection features offer added protection. Slide switch conveniently located for single-handed operation. Rubberised soft grip for comfort and a positive hold. Supplied with depressed centre grinding disc and side handle. Accepts Makita 18V Li-ion batteries.

Great upgrade over the brushed version. Battery lasts a good while and is nicely balanced.
Although I wish I bought the version with the paddle trigger as the switch on the top limits control.

Been using this item for the past 2 years as most of my power tools are now makita on the 18v platform.
It is used daily for threaded rod and uni strut with out issue.

I use this grinder on a day to day basis for chasing out with a extractor attachment on it.
It’s had heavy use feom the moment I bought it and has yet to fail with minimal maintenance from me.
Would highly recommend this product.

As usual another solid performer on the platform and i geuss standered now on most cordless grinders is the cut out when the blade gets snagged which always makes your heart skip a beat when using corded grinders that dont have that feature. Well priced aswell for brushless.

Solid grinder, variable speed control is very helpful when mitring tiles. When using on masonry it can drain batteries quickly but usually keeps the power constant unless really pushing it.

Great grinder. Not much difference between all the Makita 18v grinders really. Some people like to undo the top 4 screws abs twist the head 180 degrees as the switch is in a better position this way.

This grinder is very powerful being brushless. It also takes slightly bigger 125mm discs than other grinders of this size on the market usually taking 115mm discs. I use this to cut all sorts from metals trying plastic pipe.

Food piece of kit but wish they made a model for x lock blades for quick change. Unscrewing the nut can be a pain at times when full of debris but other than that a great tool and much better than the non brushless version

Very useful bit of kit, use it everyday, be it for cutting wood, metal or plastic. Goes on for ages on a 3ah battery and quick charge in 30mins if you need to use it for a prolonged period.

This is a very handy tool to have very trustworthy and never had any problems with it cuts threw metal stone exsetra like butter never had a thing to stuff that this wud not go through with the right blade on ofcourse

Good grinder cuts through 1/2 inch rebarb like it’s nothing and best of all the discs aren’t very expensive however you will go through a lot discs due to there small nature I wouldn’t cut anything bigger than 1/2 inch as the blade go to quickly then

Never let me down and saved the day a few times. Battery life is alot better than my old brushed one. Only let down is the locking nut rusts easily.

I use it with Makita's dust shroud and quality blades for chasing channels in brick, render and plaster. Fitted with diamond rack for pointing takes a couple of passes to get good depth. Spot on tool. Haven't found any limitations yet.

A superbly balanced and powerful. And the brake is very effective.
Having used a variety of brands I found the hitachi very unbalanced. Unlike makita which are easily used in one hand.

Makita tools at there best. Does exactly what is need of it, although can chew through batteries and blades if your pushing it to hard. It has been used to cut boiler flues, concrete ridged roof tiles, light steel framing and a number of old radiators. Fits nicely into the Makita range of stackable boxes.

Upgraded to the brushless model earlier this year after having the original one for a few years, good upgrade lots more power and batteries last a bit longer, the speed adjustment is a good feature if cutting tiles you can take it nice and slow and get a neater cut, overall good bit of kit and a good addition to the tool bag!

Good tool, good quality, used mainly for cutting stell rod and rod, but also cut through concrete and slabs with it, goes through lower ah batteries in no time so if using for a while have to make sure you have a few fully charged batteries, but im guessing this is a problem with most cordless grinders

I bought this due to getting fed up of getting extension leads and transformers out for little jobs on roofs. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed and couldn't be without it now and seem to use it for more things than I ever did a corded grinder. It has plenty of power for most duties and very good battery life when used with a 5amp battery.

Great little grinder, been used and abused from channeling to flues, drains the batteries quite quickly but that just highlights its power, if you take on more than it can chew it will cut out until you flick the trigger on/off diving you from doing any damage to the grinder.

Couldn't be without this tool, i do a lot of work with steel, concrete etc and find it copes with all sizes of works.
I have used cup grinding discs on it and find it really easy to handle whilst trying to get the finish i want.
Comfy grip and not too pricy

Brilliant little grinder takes almost anything you can throw at it. Always have it in the van incase i forget a mains one so it has done a lot of work. Just dont put to much pressure on it or it will cut out

Recently brought this grinder for boiler installs as I had 110v milwalkie but wanted the hand free approach.
I was skeptic all about the power and the performance but I got to say it's bloody brilliant cutting roof tiles, bricks and flues. I even put my milwalkie on eBay as I deffitnley won't be needing it.
I managed to pick the bare unit up from screwfix same day and some 10 discs for £110

Easy to use and can take the workload however I do find that the batteries run out very quickly especially if grinding joints out.

I bought just for a major install cutting projector poles down to size, but use for other jobs now. Good value and powerful, but does need a 4 or 5ah battery as the 3ah doesn't last very long.
