Little quality of life upgrade these. Never thought I’d get a lot of use or always thought that the wrenches are fine. But it’s a huge time saver and really just a joy to use.
Always locks on easily, haven’t managed to dross thread it yet. Both things I’d worried about before.

How i went without this tool for so long long i do not know.
I know must of us plumbers will use a spanner or ratchet spanner to fit rad tails but slap this on the combi drill and let fly especially if you have a few rads to do. Saves me soo much time

Great tool, makes fitting radiators quicker and easier. A few reviews mention about being careful not to cross thread, I haven’t had this problem, but I use loctite 55 and leave the first thread free to screw in the rad tail by hand first. Works for me!

Excellent time saving piece of equipment, especially when working on site, makes dressing radiators quick and easy ( make sure not to cross thread the valve tail when installing ), Fits standard drills.

Had this quite a while now, makes fitting radiator tails a lot quicker.
Be careful not to start it cross threaded.
If swapping radiator valves in situ then I go back to my 5/8” ratchet spanner if the radiator is too close to the adjacent wall as you cannot fit drill in.
Strong sturdy build. Not expensive, worth the money.

Can't believe I've only recently bought 1 of these, massive time saver. Fits a wide range of radiator tail, could do with a new version for the internal tails like on towel rad valves too. Fits in any standard drill or also in a ratchet/ring spanner. Gets a good grip on the valve tail without marking it

Awesome bit of kit good for putting tails in and auto wrapping PTFE tape onto the tail (bet you hadn’t tried that before!) best used with the mistral 2 self seal tails I find as they seat well against the face. NOTE: this won’t work with tails that have the nut & olive on already such as Danfoss etc. So make sure to check that first. Still 5* because not their fault.

Hi, I'm Phil from Stokes Heating. Today, we're doing a review on the Monument adjustable shifters with half teeth. Daily shifters, little one, and the big ones, and we've got the next size up again. But these ones, especially for wrought-tail drivers, is hard to get to. The bite on them seems to be fast superior compared to a full-size head. I don't know why, but you've got a nice clear grip on everything you grab, straight in, and sometimes that after thin width on the top makes it easier to get into the tightened areas. Like I say, I do use these daily and becoming really handy. Mechanism stays smooth, easy to use, not catching like some of them we've had before. Straight up. Easy to use, like I said. Straight on the rad-tail drivers or anything else you are using. 15 mill nuts, 22 mill nuts. They open up quite wide. Straight on. Nice good grip, firm handle, hanging pad if you need it. But we never use that. Handy thing for the toolbox. Thank you, Tool Talk.
Hi, I'm Phil from Stokes here and today we're doing a review on the Monument Rad Tail Driver.
Basically, lock seal valve, TRV valve, threads into the radiator. It's got quite a few different cutouts for the different sizes. Straight on, slow speed on our combi drill. Start off the thread first. Go straight with radiator. Really good for them type of valves, such as the standard insert. Obviously the ones that come with less knowladge are no good, to try and price that off to put the new one on, you just use the adjustables on these. But the ones that are clear shafted, quite long, some of them are bit extended straight on. Go straight into the radiator. It works quite well if you're doing quite a lot of them. It's quite a handy tool to have. I'll be using it quite a bit in the future.
Thank you Tool Talk for sending me for the review.
Hi, I'm Sean from Gas Patrol, and today we are doing a review for Tool Talk on the Monument tail drivers. Now these little tools are absolutely amazing when it comes to installing rad valves. To use them, simply place them on. You get a socket set with a 10 millimetre piece inside. Don't have that, you can use an adjustable spanner, or indeed, you can use a cordless drill. To use them, simply press on. Couple of turns. There we have it. Very easy, very simple to use and leaves absolutely no scuffs whatsoever on the chrome or the rad valve. Now when you're installing rads and you want a professional finish, buy one of these. Absolutely fantastic. Thanks again guys.
Hello Tool Talk. This is Brendan from B Burnside Property Maintenance here. Today, I want to tell you about this TRV Tail Driver from Monument Tools. It's designed to make the installation of your tails for your thermostatic radiator valves easier and quicker.
So, it simply attaches into a cordless drill, like so. This design is a typical radiator tail. This one, I think, is a Drayton, but it doesn't particularly matter. And that fits in there. Obviously with your PTFE or your jointing compounds on the thread and you drive it in.
I haven't had chance to properly test this yet in everyday, in every natural, everyday situation. But the idea is a good one, because normally you would be trying to get either an adjustable spanner or a ring spanner on the square end. Which, you haven't got a lot to go on and by the time it's tightened up, you've got very little.
One thing I have noticed though, is that the fit, it does seem quite loose. So I know, I'll give it a go, but I suspect there is a possibility that you could end up rounding this off and then it's going to be no good. So, but time will tell. Time will tell. So we'll see what happens.
Thank you for watching.
Hi there. My name's Andrew from ATR Plumbing. And today I'm reviewing the Monument tail driver for Radiator Tails. So this is your radiator tail. This goes into your bottom of your radiator. Normally you'd have to put this in with a spanner or a socket, but with the tail driver from Monument, goes into the chuck of your drill, like so. And then the tail just goes inside the drive. And then have it on low speed on your drill. Lots of torque. Get it started. And voila, that's your tail done.
It saves a lot of time, especially if you're doing a lot of radiators. My only thing that I would say could be improved, if it was slightly longer it would reach into a radiator tail extension. It's just too short. But that's only a little gripe. But yeah, it's a great product. Very well made, solid steel, and it'll last years and years to come.
So that's my review for Tool Talk. Thank you very much.
What's happening. So another quick little review on some stuff I've just been given to have a tryout on. A couple of different bits this time. Stuff that I don't really use to be fair. The Monument tail driver. So for the radiator tails, which really, in my opinion, I don't think it's necessary ever. I just use a 16mm ratchet spanner, which you get away with one for 16 quid, or you can get one that works just as good for two quid. It's entirely up to you. But even more to the point now, a lot of people are using the liquid PTFE. So the tails just go in hand tight anyway, so there's no real need for a tail driver or even a ratchet for that matter. I think it's probably a bit intense for putting a tail into a radiator. There's no real benefit. It works, but for me, there's not really much of a point to it. So yeah. Hope this helps anyone. Cheers.
Hi there, Daniel Stokes here from S.A.S Heating doing a Tool Talk review on the Monument Tools rad Tail Driver. Nice little bit of kit. Just fairly straightforward to use. Nice design. Fits any rad tail without an olive. Just fits straight in there. Nice, tight grip on it.
All you really simply got to do is put whatever sealant you're going to want to do on there, get this into the drill, put that into there, get that onto your radiator, and away you go. Holds up pretty well. Really nice bit of a kit. I hadn't used one before this review so, yeah, going to use these more often. Makes the job, well, a tiny bit quicker. Thank you, Tool Talk.
This is a Tool Talk review of a Monument Tool. This is the radiator valve tail socket, used to drive in radiator tails or remove them. Let's open it up. Yeah, nice, clunky, hard up. Let's put it in the drill and see what it's like. Okay, now it's in the drill, speed one. Let's see what it's like removing. That was very easy. Okay, takes them out very fast. Now let's see what it's like with a new one. I know this is gas tape, but this is all I've got. Okay, tie them back up, new valve. You see the different shapes, it will go in one way and then lock. And that is in. Very quick. Nice tool. Thank you, Expert Trades, for sending this, and thank you Monument. That's a very nice tool. It's going to make life much easier.
