Wiha Single-Pole Non-Contact Volt Detector 90 - 1000 V AC
Saves time : Rapid voltage test thanks to contactless measuring.
Increases your efficiency : Compatible for use in all sockets worldwide thanks to measurement tip suited to international usage.
Before starting electrical installation work, electricians need to guarantee that their work environment is free of any live voltage. A voltage tester is required to test alternating electric fields or probable sources of error. The contactless Wiha voltage tester will give an initial indication of whether an area is live or not thanks to an optical signal. Once the tester is switched on, the permanently green LED indicates that the tester is ready for use. If a voltage is detected, the red LED lights up, which can also be easily seen in daylight. Two AAA batteries are required to operate the device. These are included in the delivery. With its push-on clip, the voltage tester snugly fits into any shirt or trouser pocket thanks to its handy size. The voltage tester is suitable for all socket variants worldwide thanks to its measurement tip adapted to international usage. Designed for CAT IV 1,000 VAC, the single-pole voltage tester complies with EN 61010-1/IEC 61326.

Review for Wiha Single-Pole Non-Contact Volt Detector 90 - 1000 V AC by DKMProperty8th March 2022
As always for Wiha this is a very well built and sturdy tool. Disappointed it doesn’t have auto shut off and a sounder. Also I noted that sometimes it appears too sensitive and lights up about 4” from the wire and other times it seems to struggle a little. It will always light up when very near a live wire so it’s not a safety issue it’s just I had a cheaper one that could detect a live wire through a plastic switch and this can’t. I do like this tool and will continue to use it day to day but I will likely replace it with a Fluke when I inevitably lose it or the apprentice borrows it and doesn’t put it back.

I was really looking forward to getting and using this as it was my free gift from tooltalk but I'm very sad yo say I'm disappointed with this product I love the wiha stuff but feel this product is just a bit naff. No sound no auto shut off and clearly wiha have used the same body of the better model and just not added the features. For the price I wouldn't bother there are others on the market that have multiple features for the same or cheaper. I'm my opinion wiha should just scrap this model and only sell the upgrade. Its a real shame

Not as great as I expected. Made beautifully as you would expect from Wiha and very sturdy however it is very basic for the price. There is no auto shut off. There is No sound - only a small red LED. You can pick up cheap quality made ones that has auto turn off and sound. The case is clearly designed to accommodate an LED light which is not fitted. I have subsequently learned that there is another model, in the same case with sound, light, and variable sensitivity display. I will be keeping it as a spare and use my other one which has auto turn off and has a sound. In short, it works and is well made, but not worth the money.
