There is more to the dowel racket than meets the eye. A special structure in its interior provides galvanic separation between the blade and the solid steel cap. Not many people would want to go back to the days of rawlplug punches but essentially that is what this is. I use this for trainees to use so they can learn how to use it before being released with a power tool.
It does cut a nice 6mm hole and is relatively simple to use on block.
