Review for Evolution by Install (Ceilings And Partitions) Ltd

Good value tools, I have a 215mm mitre saw with stand. It's great for those jobs where you need something a bit more universal and not too bulky to cart around. Blades are great, no problems cutting through steel, aluminium or wood, however cutting laminate skirting wears the blade out - but in my experience this happens to all mitre saws I've used for this material

Very good tool for the money. Ive had one for a few years now and its always served me well.

The blade it comes with being able to cut through most materials is great. It can become a bit loose and wobbly in places but this can be forgiven with the price you pay.

I have their mitre saw, great value for money but the most impressive bit must be the multi purpose blade they sell you for the miter saw and the circular saw. I have been caught in a pinch a number of times and cut heavy duty steel with the mitre saw blade and it’s held up beautifully. I once spend a day installing handrails made out of scaffolding poles and had to use the mitre saw to cut the scaffolding poles all day, yes the blade was shot after one day of cutting steel but it did the job beautifully. I have used the mitre saw on loads of projects and it’s still going strong. I have replaced the blades loads of times, nice work Evolution.

I bought an evolution saw that was a chop saw and when you locked the saw into the down position, the blade was accessible above so you could use it as a table saw. This was small enough to keep in the van and it could be set up in seconds.

I have a rage 255mm mitre saw 110v. It has its good points and bad points which for the price can’t expect it to be in the same league as high end mitre saws. I use this for refurb work, stud work, door linings, architraves, skirting and for that work it does well. The single bevel ability is accurate and locks well in use. The mitre mechanism isn’t so good. The mitre angle lock mechanism does not need to be tightened that much otherwise it gets damaged. When tightening it tends to slip off the set angle say 31 and a half mm to either 31 or 32mm. I have the design with the motor to the right hand side of the handle and it gets in the way on some cuts. Also with the wood clamp in place on the right hand side next to the motor it is absolutely useless. The newer models with the motor above the handle would avoid this. Using the clamp to the left hand side is okay. The soft start for the motor is good and necessary with a 1600W motor, I wish evolution would add these to their other tools. Overall good enough for site type work and most refurbs, but for really accurate wood working projects the mitre mechanism isn’t accurate enough.

I purchased the evolution rage 255mm sliding mitre saw a couple of years ago as a replacement for my aging DeWalt. The ability to cut multiple materials with a single blade added to the price was what drew me to this machine. Sadly the blade does not last if you choose to take advantage of this leaving the finish on second fix work poor at best. My advice would be to keep a separate blade for second fix only to avoid needing replacements so often. Overall though this machine is half the price of the big brand equivalent so for the money i really cant complain

Very good brand and very reasonably priced. I own the table saw and stand and it is a pretty decent saw, although some of the plastic fittings like the locking handle on the fence could be a bit tougher as mine has snapped of without even using too much force. Other than the saw has very good power and stands up to a lot without bogging down in power although it is a bit of a pain to change the saw blades with all the screws that need to be removed to access the spindle bolt. The fence is okay for the price, it is quite sloppy in the track but once its locked in to place its very parallel to the blade. Evolution is a must brand if you are wanting good tools on the cheap.

I bought an Evolution 250mm mitre saw a couple of years ago, was initially happy with it however it soon began throwing up faults. The fence quality is poor and it’s practically impossible to keep it square. The laser went out and I fiddled with it for hours but once again, it’s impossible to get it back to square.
The list of things I DONT like about this saw could go on.

Nothing wrong with it for DIY but not cut out for professional use.

I got a 255 double bevel mitre saw for a large shed build and I have to say for the price it is pretty good.. one thing I noticed was that the fence is slightly warped..the bottom of the fence is fine so doesn't really cause many issues...found later I needed a circular saw and just went for it as it was so cheap..and that has been really good too. I have a large dewalt for my main work but the smaller versions of these are perfect for when your doing a few skirtings or laminate floors in a bedroom and don’t want to haul a huge saw up the stairs.
Probably wouldn’t use it where spot on accuracy was very important but still serve a purpose for less than a Qtr of the price of my big saw

Have the Mitre saw, bought because I'm shocking at cutting wood straight, turned out to be one of my best purchases, comes with multi use blade, so I've cut wood, plastic, metal with it, still giving clean cuts. Can even get a t ice blade and cut tiles but haven't tried it yet. The 45 degree bevel is maybe a couple of mm out but for the amount I use it, nothing a bit of filler and caulk can't sort, If I was cutting skirting boards all day every day I would probably get a more expensive model, but this is great for what I require for the price.

Excellent tools with unique blades able to cut multiple materials easily. I own there larger mitre saw and had a problem with assembly, ran the customer support number and was pleasantly surprised to be talking to someone in the UK who knew what they were talking about. Was able to sort the problem over the phone and was very happy with the service I received.

I have both an evolution circular saw and a mitre saw.
Neither have missed a beat. Used both for over 2 years now still with original blades.

I will put up my sliding compound miter saw agains any of the big brands any day of the week (except Sunday! I need to rest sometime)
If is powerful, has a double bevel that you would pay over twice the price on a big brand unit, and it goes like their is no tomorrow. Once you go black and orange! Well you know the rest!

I have the evolution miter saw . It's good for diy / hobby stuff . That's what I use it for . Only issue I have is the noise it makes . It was only a little bit cheeper than a better bigger quieter matika saw .. if I had the money to spend again I would go for a quieter bigger saw

I have a circular saw and s jigsaw. They both have the multi purpose blades which cut through anything. I use the circular saw to assist with raising floor boards as nails pose no problem. Price wise I find them very competitive especially if you find an offet

I have used a wide range of evolutions power tools and in my opinion their versatility is second to none. My last circular saw lasted 4 years until it died due to user error no fault in the tool. I'd highly recommend this brand.

Does what it says on the tin as the ads say. Used for cutting multiple materials but not tried on any thick steel, it's fine for aluminium and seems to handle nails in timber with ease. Mounting diameters are unique (I think) to evolution tools so pay attention when ordering. Bit more expensive than some blades but perform and last well.
