Review for DEWALT DCS520 Cordless XR FlexVolt Plunge Saw by EC Creative Services
12th February 2022
We have the corded version of this saw also and the cordless Bosch GKT55GCE.
The power of the flexvolt saw and features (depth stop, track adjustment guides (the tool that helps grip the saw to the track)) make this my preferred choice of track/plunge saw.
I have marked it down because of the track that is used with this saw. The track itself is good. The jointing system on it however (should you need to use 2 tracks), is absolutely garbage in my opinion. The Bosch track and jointing system is much easier to use and far more sturdy and reliable.
The saw itself is well balanced and is not to heavy in the hand. The power is great for cutting through materials at ease.
We do cut sheet timber, Perspex and dibond (aluminium extrusion boards) with it.
Coupled with the flexvolt m class extractor this saw is perfect for site and workshop use.
With 2 flexvolt batteries and charger as part of the kit it came with, we have a powerful bit of kit that can be used when the main corded version is in use.
Like the other Dewalt tools I have, this is a cool saw and should be recognised as such.
