If you are going for it then you have to have a few upgrades, the basic is cheap. But it’s very cheap fleet vehicle.
As a personal van you’ll want a few comforts, seats, connectivity packs and drivers aids.
Solid little vans and look fairly decent in anything but white.

Great van to drive and very comfortable. Fitted a sliding van vault in the back and works perfect pulling it out front the side door. Easy to drive around busy building sites and town driving

Easy to drive, practical and well-equipped as standard, the Ford Transit Connect is one of the best all-rounders in the small van market. Admittedly, it can't match the payload of the Vauxhall Combo or Peugeot Partner, but it still has enough in its locker to nudge its way to the front of the small van pack

Really nice van I have the short wheel bace version, drive's well and is really comfortable to. The only problem I have with the van is the fact you can only fit an 8x4 sheet of ply diagonally in the back of the van. But otherwise plenti of hight.

i have the long wheel base connect and been far the best van, drives nice and smooth the only negative it how small the middle seat is when you have the passenger seat down i would class it as a 2 setter as you cant get 3 adults in the van comfortably

Love the connect.
An L2 is a must if you intend to work from it.
It drives almost like a car and is very comfy.

Only issue I have is the load through for long lengths of tube etc. You have to drop the passengers seat to use it, even with a middle seat you can’t fit a passenger and use the load through so it’s only good for lone off trips in that respect.
Obviously just get roof bars fitted and all is good!

Had this van 2 years from new. Bought the L1 version but splashed out for a Custom model with sat nav, heated drivers seat and reversing camera. Thought the camera was a gimmick but it is so useful. Well built van that’s easy to use. Probably need the L2 if you want to carry more but the one I’ve got is good enough for me. 1.5 diesel is quick and reasonably cheap to run. A little disappointed that the front tyres have worn quite quickly, I’ve not done big mileage and don’t drive aggressively.

Love mine - I’ve got the L2 with dual sliding doors and the through load where the front seats go down - my only complaint is the satnav/media Center is dated and difficult to use.

Had my Connect for 2 years done 60k it’s been brilliant only had one issue the AC gave up ford fixed it but wasn’t the most simple. It’s a small van with lots of space you can get about 10 8x4 sheets in a L2 and the load through seat is brilliant so no need for a roof rack. I have different wheels but still get around 40mpg on a L2 120 Auto

Got this van at the beginning of the year and had to go back within 2 months due to an issue with the exhaust, as time has gone on I'm still not happy with my purchase the van looks the part but I find the quality and reliability isn't there like the old connect.

Love mine! I started a lease this year on the L2 version in deep impact Blue, love driving it more than my car! Loads of space I side for all my tools etc, I had a rhino tube put on top to save on space inside. I mainly fit boilers so I carry a fair bit with me plus the odd boiler and all goes in nicely. Great to drive, very comfortable. Its classed as a 3 seater but it's 2 and a half at best definitely wouldn't get 3 blokes in it.. Lol. The version I got has Bluetooth, auto lights, wipers etc plus heated seats, can't fault it so far. If your thinking about getting one go for the L2 version which has the longer wheelbase as it makes a huge difference.

I have a 2010 model and still going strong. Trend model so came with a lot of extras that you would normally get on a car. Has a bulk head so isn’t great if carrying anything long but have a decent roof rack fitted so isn’t a massive issue. When I do eventually change it I will be staying with Ford.

I got one of these, Ford are great, The van has my tank, my purifying system, my 2 poles, gutter vac and all poles, hoses and still plenty of space. The drive is literally just like driving a car, drives well, no struggle in the pull when tank filled up, fast heaters, nice motor.

Brilliant van to drive and even as a passenger is brilliant and comfy it's like sitting in a car with loads of room. The load area in the back is a handful of room for even a joiner has plenty of room left to carry some materials to the job. The dab radio is fantastic for the commute to work and just sitting in the van

Picked up a 2017 Transit Connect from Alan Ford. Very impressed with the cabin, mainly the comfort factor and also the extra toys.

Mine has heated seats, windscreen, sync3 sat nav and AppleCar play, reverse cameras, parking sensors etc.

For the 1.5tdci engine I’m currently getting around 52mpg.

Load space in the rear is exceptional for the L1 size. Comfortably fit all my kit in being an electrician.

The load through area is also extremely handy.

The double passenger seat is ok, I’ve had 2 passengers sat in there and it’s a bit cosy! Not too bad for short journeys.

Have just got the long wheel base version of this van and I don't know how I managed to fit all my gear in my last van. This has so much more space, even with the racking I can easily get boilers and pipes in. Very comfortable to drive, has loads of features, love the dab radio and heated drivers seat. Only niggle is why couldn't they have made the slide through hatch lower so you don't have to fold front seat down to get pipes in.

To be honest we don't lug around much in the back of the van but as a branded vehicle to commute to work in it's a great little van. Only thing for me is the passenger seats say you can get two in there but it's a one and a half seater really .. not made for three people unless one goes in the back #martin
