Great for scribing and general marking. The sharpener actually works as well, not like some other brands that I've used. Overall would recommend for all trades.

I have always hated the carpenters pencil till these lead inside seems to not keep breaking so you’re not sharpening with Stanley knife just for the tip to fall off. And on sharpening wow love the rectangular pencil sharpener great pencil get yourselves some of these

Very thick guage graphite/lead pencil. Dropped many times and when sharpening the lead was still intact. Gave my chippy a couple to use and he tried to take more of them as he loved the quality so guessing they are the bees knees. Ps didn't realise the sharpened was at the base for a few days until I saw the chippy taking it out and sharpening the pencil :-/

They are a generic carpenter pencil but when you put them up against others say freebies from a trade show or the standard ones from the wholesalers or diy stores then they do step up a bit, I sharpened one up expecting the lead to break off a few times as usual when you get down to the fine point but no it stayed in there! Used it for a few days got dropped a few times and sharpened a few more and it still hung in there, didn’t break off in the sharpener! For what I used it for it worked well, I’m not a carpenter so wouldn’t use it as much as those guys do but it did the job!

Very good pencil. The lead is quite hard so won’t snap easily and leaves a distinct mark yet not too dark and noticeable. The sharpener is also very good and gives a good sharp point every time. Would definitely buy these again

Good solid pencils, last a long time and the lead so far hasn’t cracked and I’ve dropped them a few times. They come with a pencil sharpener but the good old fashioned stanley knife also does the trick.

The old reliable carpenters pencil, always a must in any toolbox. where this really good is the pencil sharpener, it’s amazing to see a rectangular pencil being used in a pencil sharpener. Making a better point to the pencil lead but also, great for preventing cuts that can potentially be caused by trying to sharpen the penicillin with a knife

The tracer carpenter pencils are excellent. The sharpener provided is really good at providing a sharp point and a lot better than a Stanley knife. The pencils have a nice hard 4H lead, which provides a clear, accurate and sharp line. Excellent additions to the tool bag.

This product is nice. Great pencil and comes with a sharpener. However I would probably loose this either in the van or on a job. Ive always sharpened these with a knife and find I can add the edge to it that I would prefer. I don’t think I would swap my normal tracer pencil and holster for this, but they are exactly what you expect. Nice to have it in a pack of 10.

Greetings, good day. So Tracer, Tracer, Tracer sent out some new products and some old products or rather existing products to a few guys on social media to see what we thought about them.
So what have we got here? Well, they were kind enough to send me what I've not seen before, is the Construction Lumber Crayon Markers. Let's crack these open, just have a quick look. They are essentially... They look like firecrackers, don't they, it looks like a firework.
These are bright red, big kids crayons essentially. And they are multi-surface, so you can use them on cardboard, you can use them on paper, you can use them on bricks, you can use them on timber. And they're going to be able to stay a lot more visible than, say, a pencil line. Also, of course, you can wipe it off quite easily. Now these come in a pack of, can you believe it, 12. And they fit together very nicely.
I like them. They're relatively sharp to start off with. They're good, they're very visible. I think that's the key with that, is they're extremely visible on timber especially, because on dark timber, if you're using treated wood or sawn timber, you're going to not be able to see... a pencil's too dark.
Speaking of which, if you are a chippy, and you are doing bricks, and you are doing blocks and that kind of thing, then you can't go far wrong with your trady's pencil, your OG trady's pencil. These also come in a pack of 12. I've completely destroyed the box getting them out, so let that be a lesson to you.
Beautifully packed though, look at that. You're not going to lose those in the true Tracer green. 4H hard lead, which means hopefully they will wear down a little slower. Let's just get my knife out and we'll give it a little sharpen. Just sharpen this outside.
So that took absolutely ages, didn't it? But as you can see, that's usually what your chippy's pencil looks like. However, they do now send you with... Take all these out of here, absolute mess. If you open the bottom, it comes out easier. So this is a super-duper mega pencil sharpener, which is hidden in that clever compartment at the bottom.
And as you will see, it's got two divots in there, one for larger pencils, one for smaller pencils. Obviously this doesn't work on the large one, so let's pop it in this end and see how well it works. I'll poke you out the window so you can see. Now very quickly we've got lead, I show a very sharp nib, look at that.
But what if you're trying to mark something, scribe something, get through something a little bit... Oh, that was good. A little bit sharper, a little longer hole, deeper hole? Well, in this pack you get two things, which is of course the OG Tracer pencil. This is a retractable pencil.
I've got it on my pocket. It's got a very well fitting grippy clip there that holds it in your holster, holds it in your holster pockets on your belt. This case has also got a built-in pencil sharpener on the side there as well.
And then this also is a very robust, well-built retractable pencil. And of course, push that in, pull that out. And it's got replacement lids that you can get huge packs of for very little money making your pencil last a long time.
Now this here has a standard insertable length of about 40, 50 mil, but the bonus with this is if you're delicate you can go through a much deeper hole. Give it a little wiggle, mark your point to drill, and away you go. And that is the construction marker.
Now this of course, you can get different colours of. You can also get marker pens that look like this, not to be confused with the actual pencil. And you can also get different coloured leads for those, you can get the crayon leads for that pencil, which is also really handy.
Over here now then, last but definitely not least, this absolute monster. This is a Procontour Gauge Marking Kit. Well, this is the ProContour gauge. Now, you may have seen videos on social media online trying to get round natural stone, trying to get round architraves, trying to take markings of something so you can jigsaw it out, or so that you can carve it out, or even so you can get an angle right.
Well, this thing comes with hundreds of these movable fingers, if you like. You've got an external version there, and they've also got a really handy kind of ridge there if you're going around rounded edges. And you can see that it moves very freely around any surface.
You imagine that's going around a tree, for example, and you wanted to put something against stone, timber against stone. Once you've got it in the position you want, you lift up this catch here which tightens them up, and then nothing moves. It doesn't move.
And of course the bonus then is that it also copies the contour to the outside. So you can use that on the outside edge, or you can use that as something you've got to cut around and you'll know that that is the exact shape of what you're going against. Well, within a mil or two anyway. These are 2 mil fingers, and you've also got a ruler inch and centimetres on the side as well.
So there we go, that is all of the cool Tracer stuff. I just want to say a massive shout-out to Tracer Tools for sending me all of this amazing gear. If you want to get yourself any of these items, then head over to Tracer Tools on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
And a massive, massive shout out to Expert Trades for obviously reaching out to all of their subscribers to see if we might want to use these amazing tools. So I'm going to look forward to using them when I fit an upcoming kitchen at my own house, which is going to go down very well.
Anyway, thanks for joining me. I've been Pointy, you've been great, and these have been Tracer Tools.

Hi guys. Expert Trades have very, very kindly sent us out to have a look at some Tracer Carpenter Pencils.
My first thought was, "Oh, standard carpenter's pencils." They're not quite. First thing I noticed, came with a handy wee sharpener. Now I've had other pencils before and they come with these sharpeners, they end up going in the bin because they're absolute rubbish, which I'm sure a lot of people have experienced. This actually works, it works well. I have not bring my knife out to sharpen one yet. You can see yourself, a quite nice wee we tip on them.
The pencils themselves, again, first of all, when I saw 4H I thought it was going to be awful light. It's not, it's actually quite a nice darkness, as you can see from the wee line here.
They hold their nib very, very well, they're strong enough to do that. As with all carpenter's pencils, set them down they roll away, all the other things. But a wee feature I noticed, which is nice they kept it in, a standard carpenter's pencil is half an inch by a quarter inch, which means you can use it to help you measure, separate, everything else.
Most carpenter's pencils you get, especially cheaper ones aren't. These are exactly a half inch by a quarter inch. I'm not sure if that was an accident, but it's a brilliant wee feature.
I recommend these here 100%. As I said I do, I love the automatic pencil. I gave up on carpenter's pencils years ago, but these here I've used, and I've used them well. And I'm still on the first one, I think it's been sharpened twice in maybe a hundred lines.
So yeah, definitely worth a try. Buy a pack. What's the worst you can do? It's a pencil. You'll end up losing more than you ever buy anyway, we always do. But the good thing is as well, they're bright green, you might just find it again.
