Knipex VDE Multifunctional Installation Pliers
These KNIPEX 13 Series VDE Multifunctional Installation Pliers are fitted with multi-component grips, VDE tested up to 10,000V and safe for work up to 1,000V. They conform to DIN EN / IEC 60900. The head is made from forged, vanadium electric steel, multi stage oil-hardened. Chrome plated finish. The slim dimensions of these pliers enable easy access. Fitted with a bolted joint for precise, zero backlash operation of pliers.
With 6 functions:
-Smooth surfaces near the tips grip single cores without damaging them; serrated gripping surfaces and pipe grip for gripping flat and round material.
-Clear-cut outside edge on the jaw for working on flush-mounted junction boxes and deburring feed-through holes.
-Stripping holes for conductors of 0.75 - 1.5mm² and 2.5mm²
-Crimp die for wire-end ferrules 0.5 - 2.5mm²
-Cable shears with (induction-hardened) precision cutting edges for copper and aluminium cables up to 5 x 2.5mm² / dia. 15mm
-Gripping, without opening the pliers completely (intelligent latching mechanism in the spring assisted version). The cutting edge remains closed and protected

Great pair of multifunctional cutters with the ability to strip insulation from conductors, stripping cabkd likd twin and earth take a wee bit if getting used to but after a while it becomes second nature.
The added bonus if the pionted nose pliers is great for manipulating cable and for doubling over conductors.

Brilliant pliers for most jobs, they cut with ease and are simple to use, a great tool for first and second fixing. Only issue I have is the blade isn't able to cut screws, it's a very minor issue

I like these a lot. They are easy to use abs have many functions. However they are not the best for 2nd fixing. I bought these so that it would eliminate the need for carrying loads of tools around for second fixing but still find myself doing this

I bought these thinking they were the only set of cutters I would need when 2nd fixing a variety of cables but the way they are designed they aren't suitable for twin in a back box.
They are great for fuse board work but useless at stripping initial insulation, so far they have stayed sharp but missing some features other pliers offer

These were my go to tool when I first got these but they did not last long. Lots of features but I expected them to last longer than a year. Maybe expecting too much but for nearly £50 not really value for money. I give these 6 out of 10.

I bought these thinking they may say time digging in my bag.
They are a little disappointing the plyers seem to have lost strength through the added features. The Stripping holes are not the best and it may take two or three attempts to strip and the cutter is not as sharp as it should be. All in a great idea just not executed very well.
