Have 2 of these now the second from biggest and the smallest. Great in the hand love the size of the jaws even the smaller ones. Won't replace my bahcos but will definitely come hand in hand with them for doing fittings. Love the smooth face of the jaws for doing up chrome.

These are very comfy to hold and use. The handles being large allows for an solid grip allowing you to use plenty of force so you can tighten glands etc nice and tight. Well worth the buy

These pliers are amazing. The flat, smooth jaws mean no damage. You also get a lot of pressure with very little effort. I have had zero slippage with these

Fantastic pump pliers, they have a good , firm grip and seem a lot more harder than other makes too and so far I have had no slippage either. 1 of my pet hates is when a tool slips and makes a mess of the fittings

I brought the VDE version of these not really needed but wanted the protection just in case. Got them to make off armoured easier as I found my others kept slipping or when adjusting they scratched or marked the finish on the glands.
These are that easy to adjust that theyre great to release and regrip. With the flat mouth it prevents slippage and prevents marking the gland or accessory.
Comfortable to use and easy to adjust. Brought one set at first liked them that much I brought another set makes making off SWA so much easier

I bought these (250mm)on a whim earlier last year, and initially didn't like them as they take a bit of getting used to compared to cobra grips. Having persevered, I actually find they're one of my daily go to tools when plumbing, be it for 15mm compression nuts, as you can ratchet action on them without damage, up to pump union nuts, as the jaws open up to 52mm

I own a few of these grips from knipex in different sizes and style. I have the 15° offset handle which is a knuckle saver for sure. Having smooth jaws on these makes that great for me as an electrician because you don't damage the glands wether plastic or brass.

For years I lived with 2 pairs of Banco Pump Grips and got on with them Ok except for the occasional pinched finger. Then I progressed to Knipex Cobras so no more pinching fingers but now I'm using these and they're game changers - parallel action and non marring jaws make them perfect for decorative finishes and cable glands etc

Very well built. Was a purchase on a whim and I’ve used it a little and it’s very good at what it does.
It grips as hard as you can squeeze it making it superior to adjustables which can slip and rely on pressure points that can round the nut which you don’t want on visible or chrome pieces.

Not a plumber but these come in very handy for any nuts and bolts. The adjustment on them is great and easy. I like that once it's set it doesn't slip. Also since the jaws open but keep the desired size when you close them up again means you can use them one-handed for awkward fittings. They're just one of those tools that works well and your glad you've got it in the bag. Not cheap, but definitely one of the best quality hand tools I've got. Got the 180mm and 300mm, handy having two for tightening nuts on valves so you can keep the strain off the pipes.

Brilliant tool, replaces grips and adjustable spanners. Doesn't mark chrome fittings as the jaws are smooth and remain parallel. Not cheap but well made and very useful. If I lost mine I'd buy another set in an instant.

Great tool, got them in many sizes, makes it a lot quicker and easier to make off glands and conduit, and even though they have a flat jaw they don’t really tend to slip or scratch, you can get the rubber caps for them though

Knipex is top quality but pricey tools, has to be said, but you'll not get anything much better. It has a racheting motion if you can learn to use the technique. They should have made it springloaded to aid that motion, perhaps they will in future.

I have the 180mm & 250mm pairs of these, they are expensive, I got them for £36 & £47 respectively. I use mine mainly for glanding cables as the smooth jaws don’t wreck the gland nuts, also the smaller set has been useful for working 6 - 10mm nuts & bolts so has replaced a small number of standard spanners. I do really like using them, they are built extremely well, and they open far wider than a similar sized adjustable spanner. If you can stomach the price, go for it, you’ll not regret it!

These are a great set of grips. Be cautious though when buying in mine, they are quite expensive (but well worth it) and appear larger than they actually are so when I ordered mine thinking they would be normal human sized, they were in fact teeny tiny ones, but in fact I’ve come to love them and uses them all the time!

This pair of grips Is one of my most favourite tools in my tool bag, I will use it pretty much for everything, The build quality is never let me down it’s long-lasting I’ve had this item for around four years.
It has a hefty pricetag and when you’ve left it in a customers house you come to realise that you may never see your tall again and then the customer will call you and tell you that they have received the taller now give you back it is an amazing feeling to know there is some honest and genuine people there to reunite yourself with that tool

Use 2 of these mainly for swa glands, they don't damage the glands at all due to the flat jaws. Also thin width of jaws.Push button is better than a channel lock system and allows for greater control of jaw opening size. High quality like all knipex tools will last lifetime.

Hi. I'm Terry Burgin of Terry Burgin Plumbing and Heating Engineer. I'm a member of Expert Trades. Today I'm doing a tool talk review.
Today, the tool I'm gonna review is the Knipex flat jawed grips, I would call them. I'm not sure what their official name is. Basically they're great for if you're doing anything with radiate valves or any Conex nuts that you don't wanna mark. They work exactly the same as grips. You can just adjust the size and then just clamp it onto the fitting. Then you've got a nice flat surface like a pair of spanners, but it's adjustable, so you can move easily to whatever size you wanna go to.
I've had these grips now for about six months. They're really hard wear and they get thrown around here, there, and everywhere. But they're still looking pretty much new. They got a bit of paste on them, but they're really good.
Value for money, they are pretty expensive. But, I would, again, pay that every day before I bought a cheaper alternative. I'm Terry Burgin, and I recommend the Knipex Flat Jawed Grips.

Are these grip the best on the market? Iv seen some good reviews over the Internet, iv had a of pair rothembergers that have lasted me nearly 10 years, do these make a big difference in day-to-day work and does the jaw adjustment slip or does it feel very sturdy?

Yep, I think that's the largest, you'd get them on gas meter unions fine but not pump nuts. I bought the stubby Nerrad wide jaw adjustable that fits on pump nuts, you can hit it with a hammer and it won't break so great for pump nuts.

The xl are the largest ones at 400mm go for about £110 I think.
